Thanksgiving Cards....Already?

I know its early but with the start of school (which by the way is Today for the manchild) I always start looking ahead to the holidays. They tend to sneak up on me otherwise. I have already been thinking and planning my Halloween cards for the year (Tina and I have posted a few on here) but now I am also thinking of Thanksgiving cards as well. So I was playing around over the weekend and came up with this little cutie. Of course, it features my favorite little chickies....

You're A Hoot

Aren’t these little guys just darling?!?!

I spent quite a bit of time die cutting and embossing my circles otherwise this card went together very quickly. The larger circles are adhered to the card base with the smaller ones popped up.

Tip:
 If you want a quick and easy card that’s just as adorable, or don’t have this die cut, try the Marvy circle or square punches.

Now for today's post....Rainy Days and Mondays - how appropriate don't you think? I had fun making this card - those little chickies just make me smile. I didn't use a sentiment for this card but it could easily be added if you wanted to.

I know its hard to see but I used some stickles on the rain drops and crystal lacquer on the umbrellas to give it a little...something extra!


And borrowing an idea from my partner in crime Tina - I did a little something on the inside too...

Blog Hop Mini Cards

Oh I am so excited this is my first time participating in a blog hop and I am so honored that it just so happens to be a Denami blog hop - (can I get a woot woot?). If you are following along, then you hopped on over here from Ruza. It also means that you are officially at the halfway mark. I hope you aren't overloaded with goodness at this point. Of course, its pink (I sort of have a thing for pink....and I have a BIG thing for bling but that is a story for another day), and its all flowery, and really sorta girly...but I like girly!

Midnight Sun

I don't know what is with me and using black as my base color....but each time I sit down to do a card I find myself reaching for the black. So, today I thought....hmmmm Midnight Sun - HA!

Classic Black & White part 2

Here's another take on yeaterdays card. I changed up the colored cardstock with a brighter color and added an accent stamp as a background. You could even stamp your background with black ink instead of the pink I used or even with versa mark and clear embossing powder to really make it pop.

Can't you just picture this card with a gift card tucked inside or with a little gift baggie filled with yummy home baked goodies for a friend...

classic black & white part 1

Have you ever thought that you can't use one of those beautiful large botanical stamps from DeNami because you don't have those "expensive markers" to color and shade with? Well, I'm going to show you today that you don't need them. DeNami stamps are so pretty that they can even stand on their own without coloring them.

The only color I have on this card is the blue ice paper that I have embossed. This design can be changed up with different colored cardstock, sentiments or even using a clear embossing power on the focal stamp. A subtle color like this could be used for a sympathy card or change out the blue ice paper for a bright color for a birthday or Mothers Day card.

• PC30  blue ice cardstock
• PC21 white cardstock
• PC23 black cardstock
