Better late than never, right???

Hi everyone! Well, have I got a story for you! Hmm, instead of the long drawn out version, I'll condense it a bit....My mom was in the hospital (she's fine, just a knee replacement) and I was running back and forth from work / home and hospital for a week. During all of this I managed to find time to film a little 10 minute craft dash video. Then when she got out I've was staying at my Mom's taking care of her while she's been laid up and not spending much time at home or work. In the mean time, I managed to loose the little camera card!!! I was so upset...I had pictures of the card plus another card I'd made and the video...poof, all gone.

Of course, now that the challenge is over...I found the camera card. It was in my wallet. Why did I put it in there, what was I thinking; It's not like my mom has Internet or even a computer for that matter! I've been a mess these past couple of weeks, sigh! Well, I decided to not let all this go to waste, even though I can't enter my cards, I thought I could still share them and the video with all of you.

This is actually the 2nd card I made. I took a collection of stamping goodness with me to my Mom's house to keep me busy so I don't have a picture of the card with my phone to show the time. :(
However, this card took a total of 9 minutes, 22 seconds....not bad, right??? The patterned papers really help!

Here's my first card card along with the video I made...enjoy :)

(Since this video is late the date for Paulina's Blogging 101 posts are wrong...sorry!)
9 minutes 28 seconds!!

That's it for me today, I hope you try the 10 minute Craft Dash over at Pretty Pink Posh (Paulina just announced the latest one yesterday!) sometime, it really is a fun challenge even if I panic a bit, lol.

Monochromatic color challenge

Wow, September is starting off with a bang! Not only do we have all the usual stuff going on here at the Addict blog, but the gals over at DeNami are helping us celebrate National Stamping Month with a series of challenges! Here's all the info you need if you'd like to get in on all the fun....Month Long Challenge{s}. There's actually a series of 4 challenges that make up the month long challenge. You can enter as many or as few as you'd like. This first week we were to make a monochromatic card. This card was due on Monday the 3rd, I emailed the photo since I didn't have a chance to post it.

Here is a link to DeNami's facebook page with all of the entries. To vote, simply click on the picture you'd like to cast your vote for then click on the "like" button to the right (under the entrants name). That's all there is to it :)

I wanted to make something girly / pink / blingy and had a rough idea of what I wanted to do. It ended up turning out WAY different than my vision of a pink birthday card! Sometimes you just have to let your creative side take over....

All of the cardstock is the same shade of cream (by DeNami). To get the paper to look like different shades and to stand out, I simply dry embossed half the panel with one folder, then dry embossed the other half with another folder. The different textures really make the panel stand out. The panel and sentiment are both popped up with foam tape. I layered some ribbons on the top panel and made a layered bow to match. The Prima roses were the hardest part. They have green leaves that I had to trim off...easier said than done. They sure believe in gluing them on well!

Thanks so much for stopping by! And please, even if you don't want to vote for me (I'm secretly hoping you do though hehehe) I hope you do go vote and share some love for one of the other ladies that entered.

Happy St. Particks day...

Once again it's the time of year that it's okay to pull something green out of the fridge and eat it, lol! Hmmm, still not quite sure I'm up for that challenge, lol. ;)

Believe it or not, I've had that border punch for some time and NEVER used it. It's the ole' story each and everyone of us unfortunately knows...Joann's had a sale, this caught my eye, blah blah blah. In my defense I have tried to use it...honest...but it all turned out so horribly wrong, lol. Well, I have finally made something I'm happy with....my random impulse purchase is FINALLY justified ;)  WOO-HOO!!

Hope ya'll have a safe and happy St. Patricks day!!!

Me and Wendy are truly what she calls "Twinkies"

*insert Twilight Zone music* They say that everyone has a twin somewhere in the world. Yup, Wendy & I have found ours! We're like a pair of twins that were separated at birth but still like and do the same things...just makes ya wonder don't it?

I mean, heck, we even have the SAME kitty!! Check out her Squeaker and my Tabby...
Tabby (on the right) came to us as a stray kitten about 13 years ago and Squeaker is just a young'in that showed up one day looking for a kind heart.

This isn't the first time we've caught ourselves being on the same wave length...our love for all things DeNami & there's that little flamingo issue and just a couple of weeks ago we figured out that we are using the exact same personalized sticky note design....Hmmm, that could be bad on her part, thinking like me and all ;)
So anyway, I was writing a couple of posts and decided to take a sneeky peek at what my buddy had been up to....I saw a little card that she just did a post on that was way similar to this one that was drying on my desk...
Hers turned out much cuter, but wow, still coming up with such similar cards at the same time...SPOOKY!

I do love me some tulips

When I am "stuck" for an idea, I always gravitate towards my favorite flower stamps and then I can usually come up with a little something something. And that is what I did here. Once again reaching for one of my "go to" stamps - the tulips (those and the daisies....lurve those daisies).

Now I was wanting to create something clean and simple and easily recreated so I can make a handful to send to OWH. This is what I came up with...

A little closer...

Now this card can be used for just about any reason or no reason at all. Which is good for our servicemen and women - they can write whatever they want on the inside. I thought about adding a little something on the background but I didn't know what. So if you have a suggestion let me know and I will try it out.

Stamps used: G139 Brushed Tulips, J141 Whimiscal Oval Frame, F172 Hello Friend

That Ghostie Was Framed...

Okay, so I’m not good at post titles…don’t judge ;)

I just love finding new ways to use that sweet little whimsical oval frame. It’s one of the most versatile stamps in my collection. I decided to pair it up with the little ghost for a “portrait”. A little glitter, a little puffy white pen and....well-la, a cute little ghostie portrait!
A little closer...

I’m really feelin’ the green / purple color combo! I tried  to give my ghostie friend a little grey shading here and there, but as you can see, I’m not so good at it and the white puffy ink kinda covered most of it. He’s still adorable to me though ;)

Pumpkin stack

I just love playing with the Jack O’Lanterns…this little trio is so much fun!! With the way this stamp is designed it’s so easy to change it up. I mask it off with tape, ink up one pumpkin, pull off the tape and stamp. No need for a cut out mask or scratch paper to keep the area around it unstamped…Easy peasy!
A little closer look...

Since I popped my frame up on foam tape, I added a piece under my bow to lift it to the same height. I had the whole card finished then decided to add a sentiment…I stamped it a little crooked…just my luck! That’s what I get for being lazy and not using my stamp-a-ma-jig. I decided to leave it…gonna give it to my sister Denise when we go to happy hour next week…after a long island iced tea or two she’ll never notice it’s crooked ;)
