Trick or Treat

Happy Monday everyone!! Can you believe Halloween is this coming weekend (Friday to be exact!)?? Where did October go? Have you gotten all of your cards made yet? I haven't...eeekkkkk!!!! I'm still not 100% and leading up to everything my usual physical limitations were compounded upon setting me back even further than I was so I'm behind in just about every aspect of my life but I feel like I'm slowly gaining ground again!!

I see gals do it all the time, but in all honesty it scares me because I'm afraid of ruining a darling piece of patterned paper, however, I dove in and stamped on the patterned paper for this little creation. Not so bad, right? When I am looking at the cards in editing I always manage to find something to nit pick over and this card is no different. I see now that I should have used Staz-On VS. Momento to stamp the kitty to make him darker or colored him in with a marker...he's a little too sheer.

I started off with a regular A2 sized Kraft card base and layered a fun Halloween print on it. I then made a panel from the poka dot print and punched the upper corners. I layered another pattern making on panel and added the twine to cover the seam where they meet. Now originally I was just going to add the pre-made star and the little flags I had made but decided the bottom needed something to I pulled out the Halloween fence & Halloween kitty and stamped them along the bottom. After adding the panel to the card using foam tape I added the pre-made star and the 2 little flags I made using the DeNami Trick Or Treat stamp and the sentiment from the Halloween stamp set petit four.

Spooky Halloween Tree

Hi everyone, how have y'all been? I've really missed you gals!! I have a ton to do to get caught up since I haven't been crafting but I'm feeling better now and can't wait to dive into it!! In the mean time how about another archived card for a little spooky fun??

This little card was fairly easy to make. I started off with a charcoal A2 sized card base and stamped the teeny star background in black then stamped a row of candy corn at the bottom. I set that aside and cut a white and lavender panel (I edge punched the lavender panel). I stamped the large winter tree onto the white panel and colored in the trunk with a black marker then added the sentiment and accents (friendly bat and the web & spider are from the Halloween Stamp Set). Using a sponge and a grey Momento ink I added color to the white panel and the card base. After layering the white and lavender panels together I added a length of orange ribbon and adhered it to the card base just slightly off centered then finished it all up by adding a little purple button.

See, easy peasy, right? I just love this little tree for it's uber versatility. I've made spring, summer, winter and Halloween trees with it...what a great stamp to have in your collection!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Hi everyone! Sorry for such a late post today and no post at all on Wednesday. I'm feeling a bit under the weather and need just a little time off. I have a post for you on Monday as we are starting a new challenge on at The Shabby Tea Room, but then rest of the week I'll be hiding out. As all of you know, well, maybe just as a lot of you know, lol, I've been dealing with bad muscle spasms for about 3 years now. About 6/8 months ago I started being woken in the middle of the night with my entire mid section being squeezed and in horrible pain. It's gotten a little worse with each attack and on Monday I had actually passed out and wasn't breathing correctly so I was rushed to the ER where it was found that these attacks are from my Gallbladder. Who'da thunk that??? I would have thought a gallbladder attack would be some pain on my right side, not full body horrific pain! I still remember the pain from giving birth to a 10 pound baby boy with no drugs...this pain is worse, trust me ;) it's nothing to play with! They wanted to do surgery immediately but I've put them off till Monday...too many things to do before I can be down for the count! I'd appreciate prayers even though this is a simple surgery. I'm going to miss y'all next week!! Until then how about one last Halloween card for the road??

As you can see, this is a super duper easy card and uses just one little stamp set, DeNami's Halloween Petit Four Stamp Set. I made a black tall fold A2 sized card base and stamped the web in white then made a white panel that I edged in grey ink. I stamped a bunch of webs in the corner and added the spider (hand drew a little line he's hanging from) along with the sentiment. To finish it all off I added some twine, a rhinestone and lots of glitter. Easy peasy, right? Perfect little card if you need one in a hurry :)

I'll be back here with y'all as soon as I can! You gals rock!

Trick or Treat

Did you have a chance to follow along the DeNami blog hop this past weekend? WOW, that was some serious eye candy, wasn't it?

I just LOVE me some fun Halloween cards and have another to share with you :)

I still had plenty of paper left over from one that I made for the hop so I decided to whip up this little cutie using the Halloween Stamp set, Trick or Treat cling, Halloween Fence & Halloween Kitty. The 6X6 paper pad and the little star embellishment all came from Target...can you believe it? They are starting to carry some super cute crafty goodies! The embellishment is perfect for tucking a couple of little flags under to complete my card :)

Well that's it for me today...see ya on Monday!!!

BOO!!!!!!

Hiya everyone! :)   Did you hop along with us this past Sunday and see all the wonderful Halloween creations? Well, just in case that wasn't enough for you, I have another little Halloween cutie for ya!

I started out by making my own patterned paper. Using a purple Momento ink, I stamped the harlequin border covering my piece of white cardstock. Then using the same ink and a wadded up square of felt I colored/distressed the whole thing. I switched to Versamark ink and heat embossed the winter tree and spider web from the Halloween set . I added a couple of strips of left over patterned paper I had from the blog hop cards and a bright length of ribbon to perk up the whole card. I was originally going to stamp my sentiment between the tree and ribbon but at the last minute decided to make a little tag instead. I love the result :)

I'm entering this little creation over at Jo's Scrap Shack.

This week she's asking for our favorite technique. Well, that's at the top of my fun meter! ;) We all know that would be stamping! I just love stamping and finding new ways to use images. If you know me, you know I definitely don't toot my own horn, but I do have to say that I'm pretty darn good at stamping in general and have a knack for making my own patterned papers.

I'm also entering in the challenge over at The Ribbon Carousel
Their theme is Fall/Halloween :) Well, since I already submitted a card that was a Fall theme, I thought I'd submit a fun Hallooween card too!

If you didn't (besides being lucky for me) you can find the full list of participants on the DeNami blog and get right back on track! :)

As usual, I just couldn't stop at one...

If you stopped by on Friday you saw another version of this little cutie. The class instructor was sweet enough to give me another die cut that includes the tree, house, pumpkin, tombstones and kitty (I cut the kitty off so I could move him). I didn't have another circle card or any more of the papers we used so I faked it :)   I pulled out my Creative Memories shape cutting system and made my circle card base by just not cutting it all the way around so there would be a "hinge". Then used a smaller circle and cut out the middle of the front of the card. After making my little scene I decorated the frame with the fun spiderweb from the Halloween Petit Four set and the Happy Halloween sentiment (using a masking technique).

I saw a card on the Internet that I just fell in love with and HAD to make my own version...have you ever done that? I pulled out some fun papers from a Halloween themed 6X6 patterned paper book and went from there...I made a label using the Elegant oval Frame with the Happy Halloween sentiment and the mini solid filigree. I thought it needed something more so I added some dots at the four points. I added a little sheer ribbon skirt using my ATG and just pleating the ribbon. This is popped up on foam tape over a piece of yummy orange chevron ribbon I purchased at Little Free Radical (link on Paulina's blog). To finish it all off I added a small twine bow and attached it with a tiny orange clothes pin that I added more yummy polka dots too.

Well, that's it for me today...again, I'm sorry I had to follow Dana, but seriously...can anyone and still look good??? :/

You will have no problem being entertained with some beautiful eye candy on your next stop, Stacy's blog! She always has the coolest projects and the most wonderful photography skills!!! She's sure to knock your socks off! See ya tomorrow with my Design Team project for this weeks challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room :)

Boo!

Ohh my goodness, we went from 98 degree days to 75 degree days with nothing in between...how in the world does that happen?? I'm serious, last Thursday it was 98 degrees, humidity was so unbearable that my chest hurt (asthma was kicking my tushie) and then the very next day it was 75 with low humidity...Mother Nature is sure something, isn't she?? Well, this weather change has me in full gear for fall. Are you ready for the changing of the season?

Y'all know that I just LOVE making Halloween cards so I'm pretty excited for this time of year :)

DeNami has some of the cutest little Halloween images, don't they?? I paired up the friendly bat with the Halloween petit four set and the Frankin-chickie stamp. And seriously, if you're a Chickie lover, you can't go wrong with that little cutie!!

That's it for me today, but I'll be back here on Friday with a fun little project!! See you then :)

Wreaths Galore!!!

Hello everyone! Were you able to catch my photo tutorial using the Winter Wreath on Friday? Just to show you how versatile this little wreath can be, I made LOTS of more wreaths, lol!! I have so many ideas in my head and wanted to make a ton more but, I simply ran out of time!!  Hopefully I can revisit this little wreath soon :)

Let's get started...

First up is a little elegant summer wreath. I made the one on the left first but decided it was too "muddy" so I made the one on the right...I like it much better.
Stamps used:
winter wreath
solid rose accents set
sweet saying stamp set

This next card showcases a brand new leaf set for fall. Warm rich tones make this little card perfect for your Thanksgiving celebration.
Stamps Used:
Winter Wreath
Thankful For You
Solid Leaves Set

I couldn't stop at just one Fall themed card. The problem is is that I wanted to use the little acorn and I thought it would get lost on the card with the large leaves. I just had to give the darling acorn its own card, lol!

Stamps used:
Winter Wreath
Autumn Stamp set
Elegant Floral stamp set
Garden Accent stamp set
Thankful for you

I have to admit that I'm pretty smitten with this next card. Y'all know that Halloween is my favorite holiday, so there was no way I could resist making a Halloween wreath!! I have several ideas for a Halloween wreath and wish I could have made them all for you, but don't worry, Halloween isn't that far off!! ;)

Stamps used:
Winter Wreath
Halloween stamp set
Solid Rose Accents stamp set

I wanted to do a winter theme that wasn't Christmas. I wish you could see this one in person, it had lots of pretty shimmer to it thanks to using Brillance inks. Unfortunately the camera can't capture just how pretty it is. The little "jingle bells" are double stamped - since the Brilliance Platinum doesn't really show up well on white cardstock, I stamped them in a light grey then stamped them over again using the Platinum so that they would have the same shimmer as the wreath itself.
Stamps used:
Winter Wreath
Garden Accents stamp set
Small Solid Snowflake Circle

Well, even though I did the tutorial on a Christmas card, I couldn't resist doing one more. This time I have it on a little panel that I poped up with foam tape.

Winter Wreath
Winter Pine set
Christmas Greeting set
Classic Christmas set

Well that's it for me today! I hope my ideas have started you thinking and that you've come up with a few ideas too.  Let me know if you make a little wreath, I'd LOVE to stop by for a visit to see it :)

There's a little surprise inside

Wow, I have more Halloween cards than days before Halloween, oops, lol! Well, that just means ya'll have to put up with me showing you yet another card today! ;)

This is a little buckle card that I like to make. It's fun because there really are no special measurements...it's all just basically "eyeballed". The only measurement is a panel to cover the back so the ends of the two little flaps are covered and pretty. Hope you enjoy....

I haven't used this little layout in forever...forgot how much fun it is. Thinking I need to break it back out, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you back here tomorrow with my final Halloween card!

Why can't real spiders be this cute???

I just can't get enough of this darling spider! I'd use him on all my cards if I could...puffy heart love him!

I also just LOVE the xtra fine glitter from DeNami. I always hated glitter till I broke down and decided to try DeNami's out...now I can't live without it (in all colors) and my quickie glue pen! You can't really tell in the picture, but the BOO sentiment is done in onyx glitter and I added one little black bling to pull it all together.

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think....good or bad....or even better - what would you have done differently??...crafty minds wanna know!

EEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK....it's a spider!!!!!

Once again I am showing my puffy heartness for ribbon and creating a card around a coveted piece of my stash. I really think we need an addition on the house...I need a room for my DeNami stamps and one for ribbon!!
a little closer....check out his eyes
Lovin' the classic black and white. I really had a hard time deciding between a bow and the red bling...bling won ;)

Polka dots & ghosties make me smile

I'm tellin ya'll, I just can not get enough of that darling scalloped border! And ya know, I'm just really lovin that little layout I did for my sister-in-law. It's perfect for border stamps! You throw those two things in with polka dots which I LOVE and then add in a little ohh so adorable DeNami friendly ghost and you got a recipe for an adorable creation...if I may say so myself ;)  Who would have thunk that a layer lover like myself would be so engaged with a non-layerd card?? These pretend "layers" just make me all giddy!
I added citrone glitter to the orange in the border and X-tra fine glitter to the ghost...here's another view so you can see all the glitters full effect...

I seriously though about adding glitter to the polka dots too but thought that maybe it would be a little too much...would you have?

psssst: you should really give that citrone glitter a try....I know what you're thinking, "but Tina, it's yellow". That's okay, amazingly it accents so many colors so well!! Try it on greens, oranges, reds and yellows...just go try it out ;)

Ghostly Boo's

So my little ghostie buddy has been sitting out on my desk for a couple of weeks now refusing to go back into his drawer. If he had his way, he'd be spot lighted in every card I do...what a diva, thinks he's all that and a bag of chips (insert snapping fingers). What can I do but to give in...I mean look at him, he's right after all.

Hubby asked if I needed to borrow his level cause my bow was crooked...Jeeze, everyone's a comedian...or at least they think they are ;). Why do I torture myself by asking for his opinion in the first palce lol??

Its that time of year again

Yes, yes, it is....so of course I am in the Halloween spirit! For me this is the beginning of the holiday season (that lasts 3 months as well it should). I see that Tina has gotten the Halloween bug too. Nothing wrong with that....nope, nothing wrong at all.

So here is my latest Halloween creation.....

Take a closer peek....

Isn't this fun? I just had to add a little bow (I think Tina is rubbing off on me).

Stamps used: D126 Friendly Bat, PF36 Halloween Stamp Set

So, have you been doing some Halloween creations? Let me know in the comments, I would love to take a peek.

Ghostie Suprise

I’m gonna be totally honest with you, when I first saw the open box I was not liking it at all. I actually thought to myself…”Now what would you possibly do with something like that?” Then I saw a little card done up with hearts floating up out of the box by Amber…and the good Lord said Let There Be Light…low and behold, the light bulb clicked on...ohhhhhhhhh duh!!!! So many possibilities!! I have been in puffy heart love with this little guy ever since! It’s a stamp everyone should have.

Heck, anything can pop out of a box…hearts, balloons, critters and even ghosties…
I love the spiders...if you look closely, you can see I added fluff to them.

That Ghostie Was Framed...

Okay, so I’m not good at post titles…don’t judge ;)

I just love finding new ways to use that sweet little whimsical oval frame. It’s one of the most versatile stamps in my collection. I decided to pair it up with the little ghost for a “portrait”. A little glitter, a little puffy white pen and....well-la, a cute little ghostie portrait!
A little closer...

I’m really feelin’ the green / purple color combo! I tried  to give my ghostie friend a little grey shading here and there, but as you can see, I’m not so good at it and the white puffy ink kinda covered most of it. He’s still adorable to me though ;)
