Santa's Hat

I have a rather easy, yet fun card to share with you today. I made a Santa hat out of layers of cardstock.

What do you think...cute? It was so simple to put together and no measurements needed, I just eyeballed it. This card would be fun to have your little ones help you with. Best of all...only needed one little stamp. I did use 2 stamps though (medium polka dot background),  but you don't really have to stamp your base card if you don't want. You know me...can't resist me some polka dots! I wanted to give it dimension so after I stamped the polka dots in a dark green I stamped them again just off the first stamp with a lighter green. I popped the "folded over" part of the hat up on foam tape to give it dimension and finished it all off with a glittery pom-pom. I know it's hard to see the glitter, but I punched out a piece of white glitter card stock using my Marvy scallop punch. Super easy and super fast to make....that's a win win in my book when we are all stressed for time.

Christmas Chickies

Have you ever made a card and when you take a good look at the finished product you say to yourself "I can't believe I made that"? This is one of those creations. I had the vision in my head, scribbled it down on scratch paper but never in a million years thought it would turn out so dang adorable!

I started off dry embossing my base card then stamped the Reindeer Chickie inside the Circle Scallop cling stamp on either end of my white panel. I made a little tag using the circle scallop with the Elf Chickie and placed it in the middle. Before mounting the panel to the base card, I punched holes in both ends and made a little knot from the same twine as I used on the tag. I just love how cute this turned out!

Pretty little snowflakes

I'm so excited to bring out my Christmas season stamps! I have been waiting for this moment for months...sigh.

Today I want to show you a pretty little card that I made using just one little ole stamp. Yup that's what I said, one stamp is all you need.

This card was soooo easy and perfect mass production.I pulled out one of the stamps from the snowflakes trifle set and just stamped the corners of 6 blocks that I had already cut out. It was so easy to just build the layers and add a piece of ribbon and some yummy glitter.

elegant fall wreath

I have one last fall themed card to show you...and it's my fave. Gonna have a hard time giving this one out for sure! I just love this elegant floral wreath stamp. It's so versitile because depending on the colors you choose it works for summer, fall or winter.

I added Crystal Lacquer to the flowers to make them pop with color and add a little texture

Since Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and Friday...well, we ALL know what Friday is going to entail...cold turkey sammies and LOTS of shopping. Because of this, I'm taking a little time off from the blog, so no Friday post. I'll see ya'll back here on Monday! Have a happy and safe turkey day!! Thanks for stopping by!

polka dot scarecrow

Last fall when I purchased this little scarecrow, he just stole my heart. I've colored him in as I've done here and I've paper pieced his clothing...either way spells C U T E when it comes to him :)

This card was super simple to make and perfect for mass producing

Tips & Tricks - November 2012

Hyea everyone! :)  Are you ready for another Tips & Tricks post....if you are then you're in the right place! I have something waaaaay fun to show you.
Today I have an exclusive DeNami product to show you that I'm betting many of you didn't even know about. Did you realize they have a little line of project booklets? I just LOVE these little booklets because they not only show you the materials you need, but give exact step by step directions.
I thought it'd be fun to make a little video to introduce you to them...

As you could see in the video, I didn't let not having the exact stamp or paper stop me. Look through your collection and pull out something that makes you smile and put your own spin on it, I think what I made looks just a great as Nami's creations. These little booklets are very inexpensive and are a wonderful resource to have on hand...especially when your Mojo decides to take a vacation! ;)
Stamps used: harlequin border, happy birthday (cling), gifts stamp set
Stamps used: ice cream cone, birthday celebration 1 set (cling), mini cherries, teeny swiss dot
Stamps used: rosevine heart, rosevine cluster

Stamps used: bamboo shoot, medium hibiscus, small hibiscus, leaf duo, solid leaf duo, sending you sunshine sentiment

Well that's it for today. I hope you give these booklets a try. They are very informative and fun to play with. Like I said, it doesn't matter if you don't have the exact stamps or paper...don't be afraid to mix it up a little and make it your own. Thanks for stopping by!

Guy friendly leafy tree

I decided to pull out my leafy tree and try coming up with another manly style card. If ya'll are like me, you seriously struggle making guy friendly cards...

To get the look of multiple stamps to fill up my background, I simply used different shades of brown ink. I added a pop of red to brighten up the whole card. Even with the red bow, this cutie would be very suitable for a guy.

Fall Fowers

I just love the warm rich tones of fall flowers. While I know most of us start thinking about mums, why can't we have daises...that's the fun of stamping, you can make anything you want to fit the time of year.

When I first started card making several years ago it was all the rage to distress the edges of your paper and even tear the edges. I loved the look and still do. It may not be the "cool" thing to do any longer, but like fashion, I'm betting it's going to come back again.

An apple a day

When I think of fall time I think of apples...well, a certain carmel covered apple from a little Mom & Pop store here in St. Louis, but it's still an apple, lol ;)

I decided to make another little buckle card like I made for Halloween. It's an easy to make interactive card. There really are no measurements, it's all eyeballed.

I used a leaf from the elegant floral stamp set along with the solid apple from the apples and pears stamp set to make the large winter tree filled with yummy fruit ready to pick.

Fancy pumpkins

I still have quite a few fall time cards to show ya'll so you are just going to have to put up with me doing daily posts up through Thanksgiving. I know...the torture ;)   (hehehe)

I just loved playing with this wonderful brushed pumpkin stamp. It's great to make patterns on or to cut out of patterned papers. You certainly can't beat a versatile stamp, that's for sure!

I just can't resist adding glitter to those yummy chevrons! I pulled a leaf from the leaf accent set to add a touch of greenery.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

October challenge winner....

Hello everyone, I have an important announcement to make...well, make that 2 important announcements, lol. First off, as we start this holiday season, I realize that things get overwhelming and we ladies are running around like crazed rabid animals trying to get everything completed for the perfect Thanksgiving feast and the perfect Hallmark Christmas. The zombie apocalypse has nothing on a woman preparing for the holiday season! With this in mind, I have decided to postpone the challenges here on the Addict blog for November and December. I will however, be here as usual bringing you my creations and hopefully some inspiration.

The 2nd announcement and the one that I'm sure ya'll are most interested in is the winner of the October challenge. Ohh my goodness, you gals brought my little sketch to a whole new level!! Just gorgeous creations and as usual, ya'll have made choosing the winner way difficult!! After narrowing it down and asking for help, it was decided that Barb is our winner.
This card is simply stunning and even I never thought to do a layout like this and it was my own sketch! I really loved seeing what you gals did with it, I loved each and every design! Barb, don't forget to snatch your winners badge and you can contact Paulina over at DeNami and she will be sure to send you your gift certificate.

Thank you to everyone that played and helped spread the word about our little challenge. You gals are so wonderful!!

Today I am Thankful....

That's right, its time for the DeNami Blog Hop and this month's theme is so very fitting.  If you are following in order, you should have arrived from the talented Lisa Elton!  Before I get to my card, I just want to take a quick little moment to say that I am indeed thankful for all the things in my life but today I am truly thankful for TINA.  She keeps this little blog running day to day.  She is the Abbot to my Costello and I couldn't have been blessed with a better friend.  Tina girl....you ROCK!

Now on to the card.....

That's right, I did it, I brought out the daisy.  You knew I would.  It's been a while so I thought a little daisy action was in order.  Now to continue along the hop you wanna head on over to Kanani Kawamura.  I can't wait to see what she has in store.  Now don't forget to comment cause two lucky people will get a $20 gift certificate to Denami just for showing a little blog love.  If you get lost along the way, you can always start at the beginning at The Denami Blog.

cornfields & scarecrows

It just wouldn't be fall if I didn't break out 2 of my very favorite fall themed stamps...

I just love this cute little scarecrow and he's so perfect when he's paired with his own little field of yummy corn. I stamped my corn 3 times to make a simple and fun border. I had a hard time not adding ribbon or a big fluffy bow, but I didn't want to take anything away from the darling stamps. Looking at it now, I think should have wrapped a little twine there the white and Golden Tangerine cardstocks meet.

A quick and easy layout

Don't you just love fall? The smells, sights and colors? I just LOVE pulling out my warm colored cardstocks this time of year. I came across this layout, well, one similuar to this and fell in love with it. I made a couple of minor changes and came up with this...

I usually don't do much dry embossing but am starting to more and more and this layout is perfect for using some of those darling border embossing cards. I love the effect dry embossing gives you. Add a few rhinestones and there ya go, an easy yet pretty little creation!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day :)

Change of seasons...

Wow, October flew right by and I didn't have near enough time for making Halloween cards....sigh. But it's time for a little shift in card making...pour a mug of hot apple cider, get your warm fall colors of cardstocks and embellishments out and let's get creating shall we?

I'm starting off this yummy season with a little kraft, cream, sage and copper cutie....

I stamped my images in Vintage Sepia Versafine ink then using my Quickie Glue Pen, added just a hint of bronze glitter here and there on the card - I didn't want the glitter to be to overwhelming because I was making this for a guy.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you back here on Monday with our monthly DeNami Happenings newsletter!
