A little frozen for our freezing weather...

Hi everyone!! If you haven't been living in a cave then you know who I'm talking about when I say "Princess Elsa from Frozen"! My niece (5yrs old) is having a birthday and is in utter love with the newest princess just like every other little girl in the world, lol! I decided to try to make her a card that represented Frozen so I took to the internet. I simply googled "Elsa coloring pages" then clicked on images and had tons of coloring pages to choose from. I simply right clicked the image I wanted and saved it to my pictures on the computer. After that, I opened the picture and simply printed it (I believe wallet sized) onto white cardstock that I had loaded into my home printer. Easy Peasy!!

I started off with a tall folded A2 white card base (4 1/4 X 11) and layered on a piece of metallic silver cardstock and a piece of blue cardstock that I dry embossed with snowflakes. I decided that they needed some shine to them so I brushed the flakes with a metallic silver ink and added little drops of blue stickles. While that dried I made a white panel of snowflakes using the darling little trio of snowflakes from DeNami's snowflake stamp set - stamping it randomly all over the panel then added a little blue stickles to make it really pop. I layered this panel the same way as the base. Good thing I printed off several Elsa's because as you know, the first time or two around in coloring is NOT pretty, lol!! I finally decided how I wanted to color Elsa and did it without mistakes. I wish you could see the shading in her dress, skin & hair and the cool grey I shaded her outline in but the picture just doesn't show it real well, trust me, it's there! ;)  The 3 snowflakes are part of the picture but I decided to add blue and crystal "snowflakes" using yet more stickles to make everything blend and match. After coloring her cape I filled in the whole thing with Crystal stickles for some super sparkle. There's so much sparkle on this card that Emily better wear shades when she opens it, lol!!

Here's the picture I used. Feel free to save it by right clicking and picking "save image as". Have fun coloring!!

Well, that's all for me today...see ya later!!

Monocromatic winter scene

How darling was yesterday's project? I'm totally in love with that little stocking treat box and am planning on trying to make another before Christmas. I hope you can join us over at The Shabby Tea Room for some fun!

You remember the green & white card I made last week that I had said started out as monochromatic card but I ended up adding a touch of gold because I just wasn't happy with it? Well, I was still in the mood to try the whole monochromatic thing again....

This time I resisted on adding a pop of color somewhere ;)  For my focal point I wanted a grouping of trees but didn't want it to look to busy so I stamped 3 trees at varying heights then masked them and after inking the stamp again I would stamp on scratch paper first so when I stamped on my panel it would be faint...almost like shadows. Then I did the same thing with the little snowflake in that same stamp set.

I combined my much loved DeNami snowflakes stamp set (used the large flake) with some darling stamps called Winter Wonderland from a brand new company called 3 Twenty Crafts

I'm sure you've seen me entering the super popular challenges over at Jo's Scrap Shack, right? Well, she just launched her own stamp line...how awesome is that?? Right now her store is stocked with the new line of clear stamps (more designs to be added soon), little doo-dads, sequins, score tapes, stickles and distress inks. I know she has a new stamp release set for January and I think there's one for February too...I'm totally excited to see them! :)

Well, like I mentioned, Jo, the owner / designer of the new 3 Twenty Crafts runs the JO's Scrap Shack challenge blog. Right now she has a Design Team call out and I'm applying! Fingers crossed :)  This is a card I made for the application.

Well that's it for me today, I'll see ya right back here on Friday!! :)

purple snowflakes...

Hi everyone :)

Today I want to show you a cute little creation using one of my favorite color combos...purple & kraft. I tend to use a lot of kraft, it seriously does go with just about every color imaginable!

I pulled out some much loved purple cardstock (DeNami of course) and one of my favorite stamp trifle sets along with one of the classic medium sized snowflake images and came up with this cutie...

I stamped snowflakes from the snowflakes stamp set randomly on the white, lavender and amethyst cardstocks then stamped the medium lacy flake {on clearance btw ;)} in a dark purple over the top of the lght purple snowflakes. I added amethyst glitter using my mucho loved quickie glue pen and finished it all off with 3 little rhinestones and some yummy twine from the confetti pack. I just love how you can achieve so much with just 2 stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace, love & joy...

Hi everyone. I wanted to sneak in today with a special little post.  I know I've been away from challenges for a while know, what with being so darn busy with life, the blog and the holiday season, but I couldn't resist coming up with something for Paulina's 10 minute craft dash. I also had a little bit of an ulterior motive too...I needed a CAS design that I could mass produce easily. Out off all that, this little creation came to light....

I just LOVE red and pink together and use it quite often. However, here I used not just any regular ole pink, I used the iridescent strawberry freeze cardstock from DeNami. If you've never seen it, it has the perfect little sparkly sheen to it...LOVE it. I added the hot pink ribbon / bow to draw your eye to the sentiment and then added the rhinestones to balance out the card over all. This card was sooo easy to make and I just eyeballed the stamps...no measuring or stamp-a-ma-jig needed! :)  How long did it take to make you ask? Just a mere little 7.22 minutes and that includes lots of fussing with my bow! Quick, easy and pretty...what more could I ask for?? Okay, winning the challenge would be nice too, lol!!

Don't forget to stop by Paulina's personal blog - Pretty Pink Posh and check out all of the fun stuff in addition to the 10 minute craft dash she has going on over there!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Pretty little snowflakes

I'm so excited to bring out my Christmas season stamps! I have been waiting for this moment for months...sigh.

Today I want to show you a pretty little card that I made using just one little ole stamp. Yup that's what I said, one stamp is all you need.

This card was soooo easy and perfect mass production.I pulled out one of the stamps from the snowflakes trifle set and just stamped the corners of 6 blocks that I had already cut out. It was so easy to just build the layers and add a piece of ribbon and some yummy glitter.
