darling little mummy doggy

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!! Are you ready for a night filled with little ghosties, goblins and lots of Elsa, lol?? I sure am! I'm going to my SIL's house this year to trick or treat with my little 2yr old niece and nephew (twins) and can not wait!! Even Moe will be going this year, he's going to be a pumpkin. It's not easy finding a costume for him since he's a big guy weighing in at 100lbs. Mostly all you find clothing for is little yappy sized doggies but one of the big boxed pet stores had a pumpkin in a 2X..woo-hoo!! Last year he had bronchitis and had to stay home and we were worried about his leg being a factor for this year. However, last week we had a final x-ray and the Vet said everything was looking great that the bone was growing over the metal plates and that we needed to start to rebuild the muscle mass by walking a little. What perfect timing!! Miss Lucy and Mr. Henry are uber excited to see Moe and to get to trick or treat with him. Miss Lucy lovingly refers to him as "my Moe" when she talks about him, lol...she's adorable! We went to the pumpkin patch with them this past weekend as she said to her mommy "is my Moe going to pick a pumpkin too"? She's so sweet!!

Today I just so happen to have a little Halloween puppy to share...by accident I swear, I wasn't going to talk about Moe, lol, it just happened!! This is from the same Copics coloring class featuring Whimsy stamps as the little kitty I showed you on Wednesday.

Again I kept the layout super simple so that the image took front and center place. I wish you could see him in person, the detailed shading just doesn't show up good in the picture. He's my fave out of the 3 cards I made for the class.

BLOGGER NOTE: How about a few Halloween shots of "little" Moe ;) that I took this morning?

Well I'm off, calling it a short day here at work and going to visit the cutest little Mickey & Minney I've ever seen ;) Too bad I couldn't find a Pluto costume for Moe, he's already the right color, lol...how perfect would that have been?? Hmmm, maybe it's not too late to figure out how to make black ears and a black tail from felt? Jeeze, why didn't I think of this a long time ago!?!?!?

A little whimsical witchy kitty

Hello everyone! Today I have a card that I made for a copics coloring class I taught at my local stamping store, The Stamp Pad. It's no secret that I have a fondness for Whimsy stamps and their Halloween collection that The Stamp Pad carried was too irresistible to not use for this class!!

Isn't she adorable? I had a really hard time deciding how to color her so that her fur looked "furry". There is always the blender dot method or using the blender solution on a little piece of towel but I just didn't want to do that since I had already colored a little owl (will show you that one later) using that technique. After a few (okay, a lot) of trial and errors, I decided that using several colors of grey flicked in to make her stripey was the best option. After I was happy with my coloring job I came up with this simple layout using Doodlebug paper and a fun spider web die cut by Taylored Expressions.

I'll be back on Friday with a fun Mummy Dog from Whimsy...he's ADORABLE! See ya soon :)

Trick or Treat

Happy Monday everyone!! Can you believe Halloween is this coming weekend (Friday to be exact!)?? Where did October go? Have you gotten all of your cards made yet? I haven't...eeekkkkk!!!! I'm still not 100% and leading up to everything my usual physical limitations were compounded upon setting me back even further than I was so I'm behind in just about every aspect of my life but I feel like I'm slowly gaining ground again!!

I see gals do it all the time, but in all honesty it scares me because I'm afraid of ruining a darling piece of patterned paper, however, I dove in and stamped on the patterned paper for this little creation. Not so bad, right? When I am looking at the cards in editing I always manage to find something to nit pick over and this card is no different. I see now that I should have used Staz-On VS. Momento to stamp the kitty to make him darker or colored him in with a marker...he's a little too sheer.

I started off with a regular A2 sized Kraft card base and layered a fun Halloween print on it. I then made a panel from the poka dot print and punched the upper corners. I layered another pattern making on panel and added the twine to cover the seam where they meet. Now originally I was just going to add the pre-made star and the little flags I had made but decided the bottom needed something to I pulled out the Halloween fence & Halloween kitty and stamped them along the bottom. After adding the panel to the card using foam tape I added the pre-made star and the 2 little flags I made using the DeNami Trick Or Treat stamp and the sentiment from the Halloween stamp set petit four.

Halloween fun with Washi

Hi everyone. I'm back with another fun Halloween inspired card from my archives and it uses just one stamp! Yup, you read that right, ONE stamp and hardly no cardstock at all!! It's clean & Simple (CAS), not a lot of details, packs a little colorful punch and takes just minutes to throw together so if you need a lot of Halloween cards and don't have a lot of time then this just may be perfect for you!

I started off by making a tall fold A2 sized card base (using a sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock, cut it in half on the 8 1/2" side). I then cut a panel and attached it using foam tape/pop dots to the card base. I found the center of the panel and measured out 1 1/2 inches to either side and started layering random lengths of Washi until I had a 3" across area filled in (now mind you, these are Washi's I had on hand and use all the time in spring and summer too. I just pulled some colors that work for Halloween, no need to go buy special Washi ;) ). I then stamped my little DeNami Halloween Spider Web in black then punched it out with a 3" scalloped circle punch but it's just as fun to die cut it with a die you already have. This little stamp is perfect because it  has the sentiment and images all in one!! I added a little grey to the spiders then attached it to the card base using foam tape/pop dots and finished it all up with DeNami's Extra Fine & Onyx glitters. I thought it still needed just a little something...you know how hard it is for me to make a true CAS card, lol!! I added a bit of twine and called it a day ;)

Well I hope you like the results as much as I do. I'd love to see your version if you re-make this little cutie...happy card making!!!

Spooky Halloween Tree

Hi everyone, how have y'all been? I've really missed you gals!! I have a ton to do to get caught up since I haven't been crafting but I'm feeling better now and can't wait to dive into it!! In the mean time how about another archived card for a little spooky fun??

This little card was fairly easy to make. I started off with a charcoal A2 sized card base and stamped the teeny star background in black then stamped a row of candy corn at the bottom. I set that aside and cut a white and lavender panel (I edge punched the lavender panel). I stamped the large winter tree onto the white panel and colored in the trunk with a black marker then added the sentiment and accents (friendly bat and the web & spider are from the Halloween Stamp Set). Using a sponge and a grey Momento ink I added color to the white panel and the card base. After layering the white and lavender panels together I added a length of orange ribbon and adhered it to the card base just slightly off centered then finished it all up by adding a little purple button.

See, easy peasy, right? I just love this little tree for it's uber versatility. I've made spring, summer, winter and Halloween trees with it...what a great stamp to have in your collection!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Hi everyone! Sorry for such a late post today and no post at all on Wednesday. I'm feeling a bit under the weather and need just a little time off. I have a post for you on Monday as we are starting a new challenge on at The Shabby Tea Room, but then rest of the week I'll be hiding out. As all of you know, well, maybe just as a lot of you know, lol, I've been dealing with bad muscle spasms for about 3 years now. About 6/8 months ago I started being woken in the middle of the night with my entire mid section being squeezed and in horrible pain. It's gotten a little worse with each attack and on Monday I had actually passed out and wasn't breathing correctly so I was rushed to the ER where it was found that these attacks are from my Gallbladder. Who'da thunk that??? I would have thought a gallbladder attack would be some pain on my right side, not full body horrific pain! I still remember the pain from giving birth to a 10 pound baby boy with no drugs...this pain is worse, trust me ;) it's nothing to play with! They wanted to do surgery immediately but I've put them off till Monday...too many things to do before I can be down for the count! I'd appreciate prayers even though this is a simple surgery. I'm going to miss y'all next week!! Until then how about one last Halloween card for the road??

As you can see, this is a super duper easy card and uses just one little stamp set, DeNami's Halloween Petit Four Stamp Set. I made a black tall fold A2 sized card base and stamped the web in white then made a white panel that I edged in grey ink. I stamped a bunch of webs in the corner and added the spider (hand drew a little line he's hanging from) along with the sentiment. To finish it all off I added some twine, a rhinestone and lots of glitter. Easy peasy, right? Perfect little card if you need one in a hurry :)

I'll be back here with y'all as soon as I can! You gals rock!
