Are you crazy for kraft??

Well hello everyone and welcome to another fun and inspiration filled DeNami Design blog hop!! Today as my post title suggests, we are playing with kraft...
You should have arrived here from Lisa P's blog. How am I supposed to follow that...Jeeze!!! Well, if not, no worries, you can see the full list of participants on the DeNami blog :)

Here are the deets:
When: The blog hop starts on September 8th at 6 AM, PST. However, you have until September 9th, 2013, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

Why: To be inspired by fun DeNami Design creations and also the chance to win mini shopping sprees on the DeNami Design website!

Prizes: We are giving away THREE $20 gift certificates to our website! We'll be giving away one gift certificate to a random participant (DT members not eligible) and then we'll also be giving away TWO gift certificates to TWO people who comment along the hop!

I LOVE using kraft! Why you ask...well, that's an easy question to answer! I love using kraft because it literally matches well with ALL color palettes. Weather you're using reds, pinks, blues, oranges, greens, purples...you can never go wrong throwing a little (or a lot) kraft in there somewhere. I actually have "use kraft with all colors" written in the Tips & Tricks note section of my little binder I use to keep track of things here on the Addict blog. It's definitely a topic I want to discuss with y'all :)

I have a lot to show you so let's get started...

For this card I inked the edges of a kraft card base then set about making a panel from more  kraft cardstock. I stamped a little pattern then distressed it with 2 different colors of ink. After letting it dry I added a distressed doily and my focal point then popped it up on the kraft panel with foam tape.

Stamps Used:
  • Single Tweety
  • Birdcage
  • Thank You Circle
  • polka Dot background
  • Classic Leaf stamp set
  • Garden Accents stamp set

This little card was SUPER easy!! I made a tall folded kraft base and using a white gel pen added faux stitch lines. I stamped out the single petal from the solid petals set in 2 colors and fussy cut them. I stamped the little polka dot circle and punched it out to use as the center of my flower. When I put my little flowers together I only placed glue at the bottom of the petals and let the tops curl up a bit. To finish it all off I simply added some twine and yummy DeNami Strawberry Freeze glitter.

Stamps Used:
  • Solid Petals stamp set
  • Polka Dot Circle
  • Thinking Of You cling

For this card I started off with a kraft base then layered on lots of goodness, lol! I had some thin cream colored paper (like what they wrap fragile stuff  in you buy at stores) and ran it through a sewing themed dry embossing folder. I highlighted the raised portions with a little tan ink and stamped the little DeNami button randomly in the same tan and some blue ink. I made a kraft die cut and stamped it with a sewing themed stamp before popping it up on the card with foam tape. I added the dress and a handful of little buttons and the little flower/bow treatment. I really debated on adding a sentiment, but in the end just left it off.

Stamps Used:
  • glamour dress
  • small solid button
Well that's it for me today, hope you liked my take on using kraft cardstock!! Ohh, and I have a HUGE [huge for me anyway] announcement tomorrow right here on the blog!! Now off you go to visit with Deb Fischer. Another amazing talent...Can't wait to see what she has for us :)

Paper Sweeties Birthday Celebration - day 3

To finish off this fun birthday celebration I decided a "gift" was in order....

I started off with a plain white gift bag from a big box store. I added some kraft and yummy chevron paper (ya'll know how I feel about polka dots and chevrons, lol!) then I made a little hand stamped pattern paper to match. To make my hand stamped paper, I started out with white cardstock and stamped the DeNami Design polka dot background stamp in a light pink then randomly stamped the little rose from the Paper Sweeties Sending Springtime set in grey and colored them in. I added a bit of lace and a polda dot flag then stamped the sentiment from the Paper Sweeties So Sweet Of You set and another little rose inside of the DeNami Design elegant oval frame to finish it all off. Easy Peasy and how cute to give someone with a little matching card??

I hope all of you have had a great time following the hops all three days and I'd like to thank you for helping us celebrate! I am so honored to be able to have gotten to know the owner and creator of Paper Sweeties, Debbie Marcinkiewicz, on a personal level and to be able to call her my friend. Do you have more than one favorite — leave each of your choices in a separate comment for ADDITIONAL chances to win!

Since we are celebrating for 3 days, I wanted to have 3 totally different projects. After a little thinking I decided that no party was complete without little treats for our guests!
Even without cute decorations how can you just not love a fun chevron treat bag??? I picked some up from Little Free Radical (link to them on my friends blog prettypinkposh.com). I filled my little bag the added a fun piece of Washi to keep it closed. I fussy cut, stamped and colored the little banner from Pennant Party then made the little flag and and used some yummy DeNami birthday themed stamps. I finished it all off using Abigal with the little outfit from the You Are Fabulous set along with the flip flops from Live Love Grow. What a fun treat for a little girls party!

For this treat bag I decided to go with more of an adult theme. I used a little glassine bag that I edge punched. I got mine from DeNami (they're discontinuing them so that means you can pick some up at a discounted price!). I wrapped some solid twine around the bag and tied a little knot then added a fun punched tag that I stamped using the brand new Paper Sweeties Home Tweet Home set (music notes are from DeNami Design) and a yummy little matching bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will see you right back here tomorrow with another fun birthday project for the last day of blog hopping!

Paper Sweeties is turning 1!!

Hello everyone and welcome to the 1st of 3 special days! I am so proud and honored to have been asked to participate in the Paper Sweeties stamp company celebration for their first birthday! There will be 3 separate blog hops in 3 days time with a HUGE give a way...what a lot of yummy eye candy and inspiration packed into a short period of time!! If you don't know what Paper Sweeties is all about, I encourage you to visit their web site. They carry the most adorable "paper doll" stamps and little outfits to dress them in! They also have lots of fun accessory stamps, sentiments, shapes and little banners not to mention something that I have recently fell in love with...hand dyed tea stained seam binding!

Paper Sweeties be giving away the ENTIRE AUGUST RELEASE to one lucky person in August
-- there will be five sets released = $50 retail value!

Here are the details to be eligible:
  • #1 – FOLLOW the Paper Sweeties blog (Bloglovin’ link on sidebar)

Not only is it Paper Sweeties 1st birthday, but they were invited to attend CKC this year, that's worth celebrating too :) !

Creating Keepsakes Convention in Charlotte, NC August 15th - 17th

I wanted to showcase something on the 1st day that not only celebrates Paper Sweeties 1st birthday, but also celebrates the milestone of being invited to participate at CKC.

I just love the little "paper dolls" all of the cute little outfits to dress them up in, sentiments and whimsical images. What better way than to show off all they have to offer and celebrate two milestones than to have a little booth with goodies for sale??
I created my little "booth" by stamping the little doll, Abigail, then masking her and stamping the Sweeties Stand.  I used the basket from the Jelly Bean Time set (masking off the eggs) and hand drew in "sets of stamps" (I just LOVE the pretty little pink rosebud packaging on their stamps!). Paper Sweeties carries the prettiest colors of hand dyed tea stained seem binding so I hand drew a little basket with the bundles of seam binding spilling out (please ignore the fact that I can't draw worth a darn, lol). I felt like it still needed a little something more so I added a little DeNami Design basket (I'm sure this doesn't surprise you, lol) from the Easter Stamp set and filled it with roses from the little hat in the Jelly Bean Time set. The stands sign came from the Sweeties Stand set and I dressed (paper pieced) Abigail in the darling outfit from the Live Love Grow set. You probably can't tell from the picture, but I added a little pink "nail polish" to her toes ;) A girl can't go out in flip plops with her toes un-done now can she??

That's it for me today, I will be back here tomorrow with another little "birthday" creation, make sure you stop back by! :)

DeNami Design blog hop - July 2013

Ohh my goodness, are you all ready for another fun filled blog hop hosted by DeNami?!?!?! I know I am!!!

With summer in full gear, this is a perfect theme to cool us down! It gets mighty hot here in the Midwest!

When: The blog hop starts on July 14th at 6 AM, PST. However, you have until July 15, 2013, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

You should have arrived here from the fabously talented Lisa Elton's blog. If not, that's okay, you can just head over to the DeNami blog for the full list of participants to get back on track :)

As usual, I have a lot to show you...why can't I ever decide on just one little thing???

We'll start with a pair of cards I made....
Isn't she cute and don't you just love all the little accessories for the Large Chickie stamp?? :) I love making scenes and since I hadn't made any in quite a while I thought this theme would be perfect!

For these little cuties I used the Large Chickie, Festive Hats stamp set, small cloud, small watering can, small spring flowers, grass border, Bitty Bugs stamp set, Playful Puppies stamp set, and the Cars & Trucks stamp set.

Notice that darling little wagon the chickies are pulling...here's a little hint, it has something to do with tomorrows guest on Tool Talk!!! She's talking about a little product that I use a lot and love! Also if I remember correctly, DeNami DT member, Emily, uses it quite often too, you won't want to miss this one!!!

For my next little item I created yet another scene...I was on a roll, lol!! Did you get a chance to see the little candle wrap tutorial that I did not so long ago? Well, I had some paper clay left over and thought I'd try my hand at making a little hanging tile of sorts...

I cut my square straight, but since paper clay is mostly paper, when it dries it kind of does it's own thing. However, you can easily trim it up with a nice pair of scissors and even sand it with a nail file. I opted to leave it as is...it added a little character. ;) I "stamped" my little scene into the wet paper clay, then after letting it dry for a couple of days I colored it in using my Copic and TomBow markers. Stamps used: small cloud, small spring flowers, curly butterfly, grass border and flower bloom.

That's all I have to share with you today, now off you go to visit with Katie Brooks!
I can't wait to see what she has to bring us for eye candy and she's new to the DeNami hop so please give her a warm welcome :)

Don't forget to stop in tomorrow for a visit with my surprise Tool Talk guest (and a special little give away surprise from her company) and don't forget to check out the DeNami Addict birthday giveaway! To enter all you need to do is make any type of birthday card and link it up (no DeNami products necessary) and I will pick a random winner for a DeNami gift certificate on August 1st!

Adorable Animals - February 2013 blog hop

Well hello everyone, I'm betting you've had a real fun time so far! You're about half way at this point so there's plenty more eye candy coming up!! You should have arrived here from the uber fun, talented and awesome, Amy Smidebush. If not, no worries, just head back to the DeNami blog for the full list of participants.

Here's all the important info:
When: The blog hop starts on February 10th at 6 AM, PST. However, you have until February 11th, 2013, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

So remember to leave those comments ladies...who wouldn't LOVE a chance at a DeNami gift certificate...I know I would!

I had a hard time deciding what to make for this hop! DeNami has soooo many wonderful animal images that the decision was agonizing....sigh. From the ever lovable signature Chickie collection to the little farm animals, they have a furry little critter for everyone's tastes :)

I decided that since Easter is on it's way and will be here before we know it, I'd pull out the sweet little bunny border. The first time I saw this image I fell head over heals. It's pretty versatile too so what a win win for me! I've decided to go for a sweet soft look today but this image can easily be changed up by coloring the bunnies "bunny color" and by adding grass & flowers around them. Throw a little butterfly frying around and you've created a perfect little scene.

I started with a white card base, added a raised panel that I dry embossed and edged, then layered on another raised panel that I had stamped and added twine to. For my image, I stamped it in a soft pink the added just a touch of pink chalk to the bunnies before adding a little fluff to soften them even more and give them some dimension.
This card would also be perfect for welcoming a new baby by simply changing out the sentiment (and color for a boy)

I've kept you long enough so it's time to visit with a seriously sweet & talented gal, Emily Keaton. Don't forget to leave comments along the way for a chance to win a DeNami gift certificate!! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Let's do the blog hop again......

That's right - time for the Denami Blog hop and this theme - Halloween.  The beginning of my FAVORITE time of year.  That right - Halloween kicks off the holidays (well in my mind anyway).

Now if you are following along in order you have arrived here from the FANTASTIC, FABULOUS and fellow Denami Addict - the one...the only...Tina Milbourn!  And following her can be quite....intimidating to say the least but I will give it the ol' crafty try.

You know sometimes figuring out just which stamp to use can be the hardest part of all.  Which is why for this little number I tried to use as many as I could - HA!

OK - not to pat myself on the back or anything....but....this card came out waaay cuter than I expected it to.  I think I fell in love with that little kitty.  So cute!  I have to admit there were one or two more I was planning on using but I loaned them out to a friend.

Now don't forget - the best part.....the PRIZES.  Leave a comment on each blog along the hop to be eligible for one of 2 denami gift cards.  So with the super cute ideas and the gift certificates that makes double the treats without the tricks!  Oh and if you get lost along the way - no worries - just head on back to the Denami Blog and get back on track!

Next up is the very creative and talented Dana Seymour - can't wait to see what treats she has for us.

You Gotta Go Back....Back....Back to School Again.....

"Geometry and history is just a pain, Biology and chemistry destroys my brain.  Well don't they know that I deserve a better fate?  I'm really much too young to matriculate."  Oh Wait....this isn't Grease 2....this is the DENAMI BLOG HOP!  Pardon me...I got a little carried away there with this month's theme.......

That's right - time to go back to school kiddies.....Momma needs some crafty time - HA!  If you are following along in order then you should have arrived here from Rochelle.

Now I have to confess, I waited until the very last minute to create this little number.  I was having some mojo blockage.  Then late last night (and I mean very very late) I had all sorts of ideas.....but alas it was too late to do anything about it. So, I am going to stick with the card I came up with....

I usually don't use flash in my pics but I was trying to capture the "bling" behind the chickie.  Here is it without flash.....

Sort of a simple card really, but I like it and I hope you do too.

Now for the really fun stuff.....Leave comments as you hop along and you will then be eligible for a $20 gift certificate to Denami!  How fantastic is that!?!

Now to keep following along in the hop, all you have to do is go and visit the lovely Linda!  OH and if at any time you get lost, or have to stop and start the hop....you can always go back to the beginning at the Denami Blog and get back on track!

Denami Bright Bold and Beautiful Hop

That's right y'all, its time to for the Denami Blog Hop.  I don't know about you, but I always love these not only for the fantastic talent and great inspiration, but it also "forces" me to step aside from the day to day and get my craft on!   Now if you are following along in order (and really that's the best way so you don't miss anything) you have arrived here from my friend, my twinkie, the uber talented and creative Tina Milbourn!  And following after her in a hop is just as intimidating as following after our hostess Paulina.....just sayin'.

This month's challenge proved to be just a wee bit tough for me - only because there were soooo many ways you could go with this.  Flowers, Decorative, but of course if you know me...I had to go with the chickies!

Now of course, I even though the base of this card is purple, I had to add in some PINK!  And I couldn't resist using some Denami Bella Press Patterned Paper as well.  I just love this stuff.  It matches the ribbons and cardstock perfectly!  I also added some stickles for the toothpaste (hard to see from the picture) and then added some free form squiggles with stickles (hehe that sounds cute) to the patterned paper as well just to add a wee bit of shimmer.

Don't forget to leave a comment.  Why you ask?  Well first off - every one enjoys a little blog love but also by spreading such happiness you are entered into a drawing for a $20 gift certificate from Denami!  Great cards in the hop, great inspiration and a chance to win?  Life can be soooo sweet sometimes!!

Don't forget - if you get lost along the way in the hop you can always go back to the beginning
to the Denami Blog and start again.

Next up - the fantastic Tenia Nelson - can't wait to see what she has in store for us today! So, let's get to hoppin!

Manly Man Man Card (aka The Denami Blog Hop

It's that time again - the Denami Blog hop and this time its Cards for Guys.  If you are traveling along in order then you have arrived from the talented Pam Wendt

Now, I won't be exaggerating when I say that I had just a wee little bit of creative block when trying to come up with something.  I mean, I am girly girl.  I like pinks and pastels and flowers (and chickies too of course).  I don't have a lot "manly" type stamps.  And then it came to me - Father's Day is just around the corner so what a perfect opportunity to do a two for one special. And so, that is what I did.

I went the simple route on this card but I think it turned out nicely.  I only used one stamp D99 - Dad.  Yes, I think my good ol Pop will be pleased with this card next week.  What do you think?

As in true Hop fashion, don't forget to comment along the way so you will be eligible for one of  two Denami Gift Certificate (given to a random commenter - now what could be easier than that?).  Now if you get lost along the way - you can always start back at the beginning at the Denami Blog .

Next up on the Hop is Stacy M. - I can't wait to see what she has for us today!
