The Shabby Tea Room #209 - spring flowers

Hi everyone and welcome to another fun challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room!! This week we have such a beautiful inspiration picture....
Told ya...it's gorgeous isn't it?? Here's the rules for this week:

  • use baby blue
  • use spring flowers
  • include birds
Our sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe

Ready to see what I made? I went a little on the cutsie / whimsy side with my take on this weeks challenge...
I started out using the little printable from The Cutting Cafe called "Wheelbarrow Deliveries". This printable is actually a little set...it not only comes with the wheelbarrow and grass but comes as a plain wheelbarrow in a cut file, lots of goodies to fill it with like easter eggs, flowers, presents, hearts, leaves, stars, pumpkins, apples etc and even a bunch of sentiments too! What a perfect little all year round image...I'll be getting a TON of use out of this one little image!

I couldn't help but add a few little DeNami touches in there along with the darling little wheelbarrow, can you spot them?? I paired up the brand new sentiment, Hope Blooms, with that little cutie pie little Single Tweety and a retired single birdhouse stamp. You can easily use the still available Birdhouse Trio stamp and fussy cut just one of the houses if you wanted.

That's it for me today...hope y'all have a wonderful day!!

Love Birds...

Hi and happy FRIDAY!!! I'm so thankful that this week is over and I don't have to think about my job for a little while!! Why didn't I marry a rich guy??? I settled for handsome, caring and funny instead...dang it! ;)

Today I wanted to show you 3 older stamps along with 2 from last year. I just LOVE the cute little Tweety bird and couldn't wait to use him again. I came up with the idea for this card and when I went to look for the stamp I wanted to use, realized I DID NOT own it...gasp!!!!! I know, I'm as shocked as you are...it's practically shameful to be honest. ;)

Well, I didn't let not owning the little Tweety Birds with the heart stamp stop me from making my intended card, I simply improvised! I used the single Tweety Bird along with one bird from the Tweety Bird Border and the teeny heart to make my own....yes, it was doing things the hard way and I would have rather had the stamp I wanted to use, but this worked out in the end and got me thinking outside of the box. I think they look too adorable perched up there on the Winter Branch (I masked off several limbs before stamping). And how perfect is that sentiment...one of my faves :)

Well that's it for me today, hope you liked this little creation and I'll see y'all on Monday!!

Who I share it with...

Well, I'm up to 4 challenges in the span of 3 days now counting today...wow! Today I'm entering another  fun sketch challenge from Paper Sweeties.

Here's my take on the sketch...

Not only do they carry stamp sets with little "paper dolls" and inter-changeable clothing, they also have some really cute misc images and sentiments too. I just LOVE this little birdhouse and the larger bird I have paper pieced on it. Now I do want to mention that the little bird house usually faces the opposite way. I used a mirror image stamp to get it to face this direction (look for an up coming Tips & Tricks post on mirror images). I just puffy heart love how well the Paper Sweeties images work with my beloved DeNami images! I paired the sweet little birdhouse and bird with one of my favorite DeNami stamps...the birdcage (popped up on foam tape) and I couldn't resist tucking the cute little single tweety bird inside one of them :) . The sentiment on my little flag is from the same little birdhouse set called Sending Springtime at Paper Sweeties.

Have you had a chance to read all about our birthday celebration here on at the Addict blog?? I'm giving away a yummy DeNami gift certificate to a random winner. All you have to do to enter is follow one little rule...make a birthday themed card of your choice (No DeNami products have to be used)! Link up to the birthday celebration and at the end of the month I'll be drawing a random name for the prize package!

Sparkle and butterflies....

I'm back with another card for the awesome sketch challenge over on the DeNami Design Blog.

When coming up with a card, I give it a lot of thought and usually have a plan...I start with a sketch and doodle a design on it or in this case, write in what I'm thinking...

I decided to get seriously creative with this one, It's basically a one layer card...I started out using the mini grass stamp stamped randomly across the base of the card, then for the punched edge I used a sweet little stamp that has peeks and valleys, just like a pretty punched edge would have. For the bar going across the card, I created a flower using a sentiment, small daisy, butterfly, tweety bird and leaves. The tweety bird is the only thing that is layered / paper pieced on this card. To finish it all off I added some white and green sheer ribbon that I twisted together. Did ya notice the little trail the butterfly made...I wanted it to look like she wrote the sentiment. So, do ya see the sketch in this card???

If they gave out an award for the most glitter I think I would win hands down! Just about every inch of this card is glittered...Magenta for the flowers, Citrone and Gamma Green for the grass, leaves & flower stem, Amethyst for the tweety bird & butterflies. The only part not glittered is the butterfly trail and sentiment...that's a lot of glitter, but it's how I roll ;)  There's no such thing as too much glitter....just sayin'

A little birdie told me...

If you read my personal crafty blog, you know that I have been participating in tons of challenges lately. Now, I have LOADS of stamps...too many to be honest...and yet I only seem to reach for my much loved DeNami stamps...rarely pulling out some other brand. DeNami has a stamp for every occasion and are just so versatile. I think I could get rid of all my other stamps and not really miss them...but touch my DeNami stamps and you're a gonner...I'm just sayin'     ;)

Well, here's yet another challenge card I came up with....

I used super thin black wire on the bird cages and popped them up on foam tape for a little added dimension. To give the little birdies a little sumthin sumthin I added a little Crystal Lacquer. You can't tell from the pictures, but they are a little raised and have a nice little shine.

Also used: M65 Large Dot Swirl
