Stache' chickies

I need to clean out my blogger "closet". I think I have around 20 drafts sitting in Blogger...eekkk! Ohh my goodness, I have been trying to show all of these cards forever!!! Seriously...FOREVER...I've had today's cards in a blogger draft since May 1st and there's no telling how long they sat before I loaded the pictures in blogger...wow!

Mustaches are all the rage and I had came across a little package of some cute staches' at Hobby Lobby and just had to have them. Had no clue what to do with them, but I HAD to have them all the same, lol! hey, I'm a lemming and I'm okay with that, lol ;) !

After mulling it over a bit I decided to dress up the Large Chickie...how can you NOT love a stach'd chickie, right???
I added some washi for a background and stamped my panel with a little light grey Curly Border from DeNami before adding the sentiment from the Everyday Greeting set and my cute little mustache stamp (forgot the name of the company). I finished it all off with some yummy polka dot washi and twine/button treatment.

pssst...don't ya just love the DeNami houndstooth background stamp...swoon!!

This little card couldn't be any easier! I stamped the Houndstooth Background, added the punched border panel along with the 2 square ones. A little twine and button treatment and 2 little pieces of bling to finish it all off and balance it out...easy peasy!

That's it for me today. I will see you back here on Friday with a new start to finish card video!! A fun little card using just a couple of stamps (including one of the new garden sets!) :) See ya then!

Thinking of you...

Hi everyone!! I am so ecstatic about being invited to guest design on the blog over at Paper Sweeties for this months challenge! Ya'll know how much I puffy heart me a challenge and being on some one elses blog showing my work...well, now that's just amazing all by itself!

I know ya'll have heard me talk about Paper Sweeties before...the little "paper" dolls that can be dressed up so cutely? Did you know they have wonderful little sentiments and banners too? They have their big 1st birthday bash going on right now...loads of fun to be had!

I didn't use any Paper Sweeties on this little card, just some yummy-licious DeNami, however, it's not a requirement to use their stamps to enter their challenge, why not give it a try???

Here's the sketch...

And here's a card I made that happens to fit this fun and easy layout....

This little card started out as a MESS, it twisted and turned so many different ways I got whip lash! I started out wanting to make a card that involved a big blue flower I had. I looked all through my pretty pattern paper stash and just couldn't find anything that I liked to go with it. That's when I decided to make my own...I should have known to have started with that in the first place...just sayin'. I pulled out the pretty decorative flourish and the Small Dot Wreath and went to town on some white cardstock. I ran a paper piercer along the edges and roughed up the edges to make it look a little worn. I made my scalloped strip and added a piece of white cardstock that I randomly stamped with the Small Dot Wreath in both ink colors then layered on some light blue gross grain ribbon, pretty fringe and a string of pearls. I made my little fiber and paper bows then did a little "dry run". I wasn't happy with it at all!! The flower just looked off...sigh, strike 2! I didn't want to waste all the hard work I had already did so I had some thinking to do. I decided to use a little stacking flower die cut set I had. I stamped them with the Small Dot Wreath then using a make-up sponge and the two colors of ink I'd been working with, "colored" them to match the card. I added a couple of little finishing touches with the resin roses and am finally happy with the results!

I say this over and over, sometimes you just simply have to let the card lead you where it wants to go, not what you have in your mind to make....

That's it for me today, I will see you right back here on Sunday morning for the wonderful goodness of a DeNami blog hop!!!! I seriously can not wait to see what everyone made!!!

Bold & Bright: Thinking of you

Happy Friday...FINALLY!!!! I didn't think this week was ever going to end...sigh.

There's only a couple of days left and I want to squeak in a 2nd entry for the Paper Sweeties sketch challenge.
What a fun and versatile sketch!! Thinking I'll add this cutie to my list of go-to faves :)

I knew right off that I wanted to make the vertical panels on the sketch using my mucho loved DeNami chevron border and that I wanted to use a bold sentiment (psst...it's on sale!) that would draw your eye. However, the rest of the card was kind of trial and error. I wanted to include something from Paper Sweeties of course so I looked through my ever growing stash and saw the cute little flag in the Fun Shapes set and knew that it would be perfect! I was browsing through my ink pads trying to come up with a color scheme when I decided to again go bold and pulled out the purple / turquoise color combo I used on this card for the blog hop a couple of weeks ago. Let me tell ya, I was way worried about ya'lls reaction to that color combo but you gals are so awesome and said such sweet things about it...thank you :)

Here's my little card...

I never do this, but I'm going to have to pat myself on the back for this little creation. I'm totally feeling it. The colors are bold & bright and really lend themselves to the bold chevron and sentiment. Then you have such a contrast from adding the flags with that tiny little sweet design...It all just makes the card "pop". I hope you like it as much as I do!!

I'll see you back here Monday with the DeNami Addict newsletter. There's going to be a lot going on for the month of July!!!

Craft Dash #12

I know it's Saturday, and I promise to keep this short!! I just wanted to throw out my contribution to the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash on the Pretty Pink Posh blog. I just LOVE the colors chosen for this time around. I had come up with an idea that I was saving just for this challenge because I thought it would be perfect for doing quickly....

As usual, I jotted down my idea on scratch paper (good thing because the stamp I wanted to use was too big so I pulled out the smaller one) and set out all of the things I would need...

Don't ya just love the contrast of your area when you're done....

I can't believe how messy this challenge makes me, lol!! I'm normally a very clean crafter...I can't stand my ink open and clean my stamps immediately.

Here's my finished card, hope you like it :)

This took a total of 9 minutes and 40 seconds! Would have been just a tad shorter but that bow was giving me a heart attack ;)

I have to run and I did promise to keep it short! Ohh and I just might have a little video scheduled for Monday....

Thanks for stopping by!!

Bright and fun flowers

I'm gonna have to show Blogger a little love today...usually Blogger is not a real good friend and has a habit of being a little mean at times. However, today, Blogger is rockin'! Love the new changes that I'm seeing today...way to go Blogger!!

Wow, here in the Midwest we are having some strange weather...it was 85 degrees the other day...what the heck?!?!?! Well all this warm weather and rain has lots and lots of flowers blooming...so pretty!!

I just had to pull some out and play with them. While figuring out what I wanted to do I randomly pulled out some cardstock...without even thinking about it, I pulled out the current DeNami color challenge colors! I just love Emily's choice...she did awesome picking this combo, didn't she?

Hope you like what I came up with...
I used Magenta, Desert Orange, Lime & white (for the daisies & leaves) cardstocks
I wanted to have lots of dimension and texture so I dry embossed the orange strip that I edge punched and also dry embossed all the daises and leaves. I added buttons to the flower centers (don't tell anyone, but they were left overs from Halloween, lol) Ohh my, have ya'll tried out the new Fuchsia glitter yet...ohh I just LOVE it. It's not as red as the cranberry and not as hot pink as the magenta...it's more of a dark pinkish/purple, you should really try it out...what a great color!! I used it on the larger daisies and strawberry freeze on the smaller ones.

for my Aunt

For a couple of months now one of my Aunts has been VERY sick...she's had pneumonia with a undetermined fungus growing on her lungs and has been in an induced coma so that the doctors could treat her. She's doing well today and is awake, alert and breathing on her own thanks to prayers, doctors and modern medicine. She's been moved to a rehab center and still has a long road ahead after being bed ridden for so long, but is alive and feeling better and that's all that matters. I wanted to make her a cheery card to make her smile....
I embossed the sentiment so it would pop since I had so much other stuff going on. I colored everything in then added magenta, citrone, amethyst and gamma green glitters in the respective places.
Somedays I think I need me a glitter intervention ;)  They do have a 12 step program for that don't they??? :/

Sometimes having no idea is a good idea

I didn't even have a plan for this card...Seriously, nothing...I was simply just staring at the handful of stamps laying on my desk wondering what to do. I had a pre-made cut out thingie laying there and started playing with it, was sure I wasn't going to use it, but I like the shape and coloring so I stamped it and decided that yes, it totaly is usable! Basically, I made the card to match the silly little tag...now only if I could remember where it came from so I could get more....!

Want a closer look...you can see the 3 line border stamp on the bottom panel a little better.

Glitter-rific Stripes

Do you know what's even better than utilizing your favorite DeNami stamps.....

Adding lots and lots of glitter to them!!

Glitter makes anything better...well, except when I forgot to turn off the ceiling fan. It looked like a fairy exploded in my bedroom...even found glitter in my bed (not sure how that happened when my bed was made lol)!

Want to link your supplies like I do... Here's a coupon code that you can use when you register at Inlinkz: 40415796. This coupon will let you in for free until December...go ahead and give it a test drive.

I just puffy heart black and pink together...guessing you've noticed that by now ;)  I based this card off of a mini I had made. I was just playing around to see what it would look like normal sized...

Well, I'm feelin' it. I love incorporating different DeNami stamps together in one card!
