Can't pass up a good challenge....

DeNami is having another challenge and I managed to do it again, I made too many cards and had to choose which ones...uggg! Only difference this time is I made just a mere 3 vs. 6 like last time and our little zinger, Amy, over at Standing Ovation submitted a card that was similar to one of mine before I made my decision so the decision had been taken outta my hands (thank goodness!). That leaves me with 2...whew, crisis averted! Now I need to just take a picture of my other card and I will have this challenge all taken care of...I hate that part....seriously, I HATE taking pictures >.<  they never come out like I'd like them too. This little card is a prime example of my lacking skills.
This card is not a "bright" card...it's kinda deep and rich...does my picture show that, NO, it's all bright. No matter how or where I took the picture I just couldn't capture the deep richness of the way it is in person. Also couldn't really get my tiny bits of stickles to sparkle for the camera...sigh.
I started out with some pretty DeNami red cardstock and added a coppery colored glitter strip overlaid with some rich DeNami chocolate brown cardstock and a deep red velvety glittery ribbon. I added some bling to the accents on the ornaments and then used red and chocolate inks to distress and tone down the bright whitness of my focal panel and popped it up on foam tape. I wanted the pedestal and ornaments to take center stage, but still wanted a sentiment. After a bit of trial and errors, I decided on stamping the word "Christmas" from the Christmas Wishes sentiment in chocolate at the bottom.

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think....good or bad....or even better - what would you have done differently??...crafty minds wanna know!

  2. Your description is great--I think the folks that have great pictures also have the "good" equipment. Me, I have a $50 point and shoot camera. I wonder why I can't get a good picture. (hahhaha).

  4. Photographing cards is sooooooo frustrating! I have bad lighting in my apartment, and a decent camera, but no bells and whistles. I always struggle, but honestly, this is LOVELY!!! I LOVE the idea of putting the ornaments on the pedestal! SO CREATIVE! I know this may shock you, but the pedestal is one of the DeNami stamps I do NOT own! It's totally on my wish list, though. Back to your fabulous creation, though...I LOVE the colors! Really creative, stunning card! Thanks also for the shout out! This Li'l Zinger thinks you are THE BEST!! :)
