Elegant Ornaments

Hi everyone :)  and Merry Christmas!! Before we get to today's card I have something I want to share with ya'll. I hope you don't mind, but I have decided to take just a tiny break from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the blog to consentrate on myself and my family. So, this is the last post of 2012. I am so very thankful for each and every one of you. Your comments always make me smile and bring such joy to my heart. You are the reason I work so very hard on the Addict blog. If you have any ideas or have something you'd like to see in 2013, just drop me an email or leave a comment...I'm ALWAYS open for suggestions!! Thank you for making this past year so successful!!

I just love the ornament trifle set from DeNami. If you were to ask me what one Christmas stamp to have in your collection, I'd say this ornament set is a must have because they work for both whimsical creations or elegant ones....

note to self: you forgot to add the little tag to the bow...ugg!

I pulled out some charcoal, white and iridescent pearl cardstocks and used one of my favorite layouts to showcase the pretty ornaments inside the little blocks. Have ya'll seen the trifle block stamp before, it's actually one stamp and is great for showcasing any of the trifle stamp sets.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday season everyone!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you on the 7th of January!!

Classic Christmas...

I wasn't to sure how this card was going to turn out as I was trying to come up with a new layout. But in the end, it makes me smile, and we all know that that's what counts. It's very rare that I make a card on the fly without any forethought and comes out so perfect in my eyes. Hope you like it too :)

So whatcha think? I just had to have me some polka dots, lol. I started out by pulling out the green and lime cardstocks then realized I needed a 3rd neutral color and decided on kraft...kraft goes with everything! I just love that medium pine image. I purchased it last year along with the 3 stamps that you can lay over the top (this swirl line, stars and a mix of the stars and swirl). It's simply a beautiful little stamp.

PS: the medium tree swirl and medium star tree are on clearance....just sayin' ;)

Christmas stockings

Are you ready to see a fun little idea I've come up with? I'm super excited to share this with all of you!!

I decided that I wanted to make something a little different and when i was making a few tags for presents I had a little light bulb moment ;)  And hey, at my age they just aren't all that often so I was over the top excited to start playing with the idea! Hehehehehe

We all pretty much stick to the standard A2 sized card, but who says it has to open like a normal card....

I started off with an single layer of A2 sized cardstock and added the green, punched and white layers like I would on a normal card front. Then I made a hinged stocking and added my sentiment on the inside. It still fits inside my normal envelopes but is different and a little more fun.

Christmas bag

Hi everyone. Today I want to share a bag that I made for one of my Hubby's Christmas gifts. I ran out of store bought bags and honestly, I was way to lazy to go to the local dollar store and didn't want to wait until I was out and about again so I improvised. I have several normal old brown lunch bags living in the back of the pantry so I just pulled one out and went to town on it.  ;)

This bag was super CHEAP, EASY and FAST, what's not to love about that??
I simply used the Classic Christmas petite four set to randomly stamp a design all over the bag then randomly stamped the Christmas Wishes sentiment. I didn't like the top edge of the bag so I simply used an edge punch to make it pretty. To close it I folded it over securing it with my ATG and ran a piece of ribbon through it to dress it up. See, sometimes good things come from being lazy, lol!

purple snowflakes...

Hi everyone :)

Today I want to show you a cute little creation using one of my favorite color combos...purple & kraft. I tend to use a lot of kraft, it seriously does go with just about every color imaginable!

I pulled out some much loved purple cardstock (DeNami of course) and one of my favorite stamp trifle sets along with one of the classic medium sized snowflake images and came up with this cutie...

I stamped snowflakes from the snowflakes stamp set randomly on the white, lavender and amethyst cardstocks then stamped the medium lacy flake {on clearance btw ;)} in a dark purple over the top of the lght purple snowflakes. I added amethyst glitter using my mucho loved quickie glue pen and finished it all off with 3 little rhinestones and some yummy twine from the confetti pack. I just love how you can achieve so much with just 2 stamps!

What to do with all you're scraps...

Today I have a fun card to share. I had some left overs from making my little take out box from the DeNami Pretty Packaging hop that I just couldn't part with. I'm a bit of a paper hoarder I guess. I even have my scraps color coded...it's awful to be so insane, lol!

I had the negative from cutting out the die cut shapes in red and iridescent cardstocks for my take out box project from the Pretty Packing hop. I simply layered them onto white cardstock and stamped my sentiment (Isn't Nami's script beautiful?).

I added a punched strip and ribbon to match and popped the sentiment up on foam tape for some dimension.

Gift card holders

Hi everyone! I know if you're like me, you have trouble buying for some people and end up taking the easy way out and just purchasing gift cards. I came up with a gift card holder a while back and thought I'd make up a little holiday one to share with you. You may have seen these on the Pretty Packaging hop already, but I thought I should post them here too.

A while back I made a tutorial (with exact instuctions & pictures) on how I made these and Paulina posted it on the DeNami blog (insert swooning :)) . You can find the tutorial here with the full instructions and a handful of sample ideas.

These are soooo versatile and can be made as plain or fancy as you'd like and for any occasion that arises (as shown in my samples in the tutorial). Your options are limitless! Hope you try them out for yourself and if you do, be sure to let me know, I'd love to stop by your blog for a visit :)

If you have any questions on how to make these just drop me an email at denamiaddict@yahoo.com Thanks for stopping by!!

Peace, love & joy...

Hi everyone. I wanted to sneak in today with a special little post.  I know I've been away from challenges for a while know, what with being so darn busy with life, the blog and the holiday season, but I couldn't resist coming up with something for Paulina's 10 minute craft dash. I also had a little bit of an ulterior motive too...I needed a CAS design that I could mass produce easily. Out off all that, this little creation came to light....

I just LOVE red and pink together and use it quite often. However, here I used not just any regular ole pink, I used the iridescent strawberry freeze cardstock from DeNami. If you've never seen it, it has the perfect little sparkly sheen to it...LOVE it. I added the hot pink ribbon / bow to draw your eye to the sentiment and then added the rhinestones to balance out the card over all. This card was sooo easy to make and I just eyeballed the stamps...no measuring or stamp-a-ma-jig needed! :)  How long did it take to make you ask? Just a mere little 7.22 minutes and that includes lots of fussing with my bow! Quick, easy and pretty...what more could I ask for?? Okay, winning the challenge would be nice too, lol!!

Don't forget to stop by Paulina's personal blog - Pretty Pink Posh and check out all of the fun stuff in addition to the 10 minute craft dash she has going on over there!!

Whimsical Christmas Wishes

This little creation has to be my favorite of all the cards I've made this season...Gonna have a very hard time sending it out. It just may have to stay ;)

Who would have thought pink and lime for Christmas? I love using non-traditional colors on my Holiday cards. I used several different stamps: Christmas Wishes sentiment, Whimsical Christmas set, Mini Ornaments stamp set, Small Dot Border and Polka Dot Background. Believe it or not, I was able to just eyeball all of this, I didn't use my Stampin-ma-jig at all. Adding all of the glitter was so simple because I used my Quickie Glue Pen. I just love how I can glitter the thin lines and tiny spots because of that little pen, it's one tool I just can't live without! I'm sooo thankful for Paulina for introducing all of us to it :)

Snowmen do indeed sparkle....

I brought out another oldie but goodie today. I just love this darling Snowman Block stamp. This year I wanted to change him up from the ways I've used him before....

I took on a more elegant approach with him. I know that you usually wouldn't associate color black with Christmas, but it really makes the White and Iridescent Pearl cardstocks really pop. I filled him in with DeNami's silver glitter and used a little marcasite glitter on his hat. For my sentiment I really stretched my thinking...it's from the Love Sentiments stamp set. I think it works perfectly :)

Holly For The Holidays

Today I want to show you a stamp that I struggled with last season, Holly Block. I just LOVE it, but never really came up  with something that made me smile. This year I got a little closer....

I've had this little sketch for a while now and came back across it recently. I thought it would be perfect to showcase such a pretty stamp. I stamped holly leaves and berries from the Classic Christmas stamp set down the right had side of the card base in a red for a tone on tone look and finished it all up with a button and ribbon treatment on the left to balance out the whole card.

Hello everyone and welcome to another DeNami Happenings! Can you believe that it's December already?!?! Where did 2012 go...seems like it was January just a couple of months ago, sigh. There's a lot of fun going on this month so be sure to take a break from all the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season to join in!

Even though we here at DeNami Addict are taking a break from challenges the gals over on the DeNami blog are in full swing with a new theme challenge that starts today!!
What an awesome theme. :)  Could be Christmas, New Years, Birthdays, Welcome Baby, Wedding...so many possibilities!!

I'm so excited to be starting the Christmas season this week with some fun Christmas themed cards and the fun doesn't stop here...Did you know that DeNami Design is on Pinterest? They are always adding new things and even have a fun Christmas theme board full of inspiration to help you get started on your own creations. There's sure to be something to get your Mojo working overtime ;)

"A little birdie told me" (hehehe, couldn't resist one of my fave DeNami sentiments) that  DeNami is featuring a super fun Christmas gift theme from December 4th - 7th. How exciting, I don't know about you, but I'm always looking for new and fun ideas!

I have also managed to find out a little tid-bit of fun info...DeNami has just about confirmed the 2013 show schedule! They will be traveling all across the US and not only that, they will be making stops in places they've never been before (doing a VERY happy dance)!!! I had the pleasure of going to see the Nakamura's last summer and am waiting not so patiently to go again :)   To find the show schedule just go to their home page and click on the tab at the top for "shows". When it's all buttoned down Paulina will list all the info you need right there.

Well, that's it for me today. Don't forget that the Pretty Packaging blog hop starts next Sunday, December 9th. Be sure to hop along and leave comments along the way for a chance to win a DeNami gift certificate. Just head over to the DeNami blog on the 9th to get started...hope to see ya there!
