Why can't real spiders be this cute???

I just can't get enough of this darling spider! I'd use him on all my cards if I could...puffy heart love him!

I also just LOVE the xtra fine glitter from DeNami. I always hated glitter till I broke down and decided to try DeNami's out...now I can't live without it (in all colors) and my quickie glue pen! You can't really tell in the picture, but the BOO sentiment is done in onyx glitter and I added one little black bling to pull it all together.

Spooky Yumm-a-licious Tree

I heart my Twinkie for lots of reasons...but today, because she enabled my passion. A while back she sent me the cutest stamp set for Halloween. Now mind you, I usually send out just one design to everyone for holiday cards, when you're making close to 30 cards, it's just easier. I did think this set was ADORABLE and wanted to use it but so are my MUCH LOVED DeNami Halloween stamps...I was so conflicted, what's a girl to do? And when expressing this to my Twinkie, she came up with the answer..."well combine them of course!" And she's the blonde...DUH! ;)
I wish I had the DeNami's darling candy corn stamp, it would have been perfect to have some scattered at the base of the tree. Definitely going on my wish list!

This year I ended up sending everyone different cards...so many darling DeNami stamps!! What's Christmas gonna bring??

Happy Anniversary to me :)

I interrupt this regularly scheduled blog post for an important announcement...I am announcing that Wendy is the bestest person ever!! Look what I got in the mail yesterday;
Seriously, can you believe that?? There was a little sumthin else in the box that I didn't show...I think she should totally show it on the upcoming blog hop! Isn't she amazing...I feel so honored and blessed to have a friend that is so thoughtful and amazing...she's the glue to my sparkles!

Welcome back to our regularly scheduled programing:   ;)

Statistics say that hubby & I should not still be together (long story - jumped into relationship too soon sorta business)...meh, what do the statistics know and just who the heck are they anyways?? Obviously they aren't that smart, cause here it is, 21 years later and he can still take my breath away! *sigh* He makes me all mushy ;) just don't let him know that or it will be used against me for sure!

Have you gals ever tried the DeNami cardstocks? If not, you ARE missing something...the colors are so rich and fab! For my hubby's anniversary card I chose their deep rich black cardstock and paired it with the wonderful shimmery aquamarine and silver cardstocks...to die for in real life, wish I could have gotten the camera to capture it better. Here's a little different angle...
I just couldn't wait to use my new border punch...40% off coupon...WOOT for me!! It's not too feminine is it...isheesh, I hope not lol!! Ohh well, he's gettin' it anyway! ;)

Looking forward to another 21 years...although I may have had to off him by then...or maybe just lock him in the basement, he has a few uses  (don't go there Wendy...that's not what I ment ;) Someone has to open the salsa jar ya know. )!

Lolly Lolly Lolly.....

Get your adverbs here.....umm sorry I was channeling my inner School House Rock for a moment....back to the post....

Simple.....I like simple. AND easy. Yes, simple and easy, that's me! HA! Actually I have been wanting to use this little box since he arrived in my latest Denami order. And since it came in the same order with this little lolly - then why not use them together - right?

Little close-up

I used Crystal Laquer on the Lollies to make them pop but once again my photography skills are lacking and you can't really see it - but trust me its there and its yummy!

Stamps used:TR14 Candies Trifle set, F208 Open Box, F148 Thanks a Bunch

Elegant Fall Floral

Back on October 1st, for WCMD, DeNami had a little challenge for us. Paulina gave us a most gorgeous picture that we were to interpret and were allowed 3 entries. I took all three lol. I was on a roll, what can I say? Here's one of my entries that was rejected. Two rejects outta 3 still ain't bad in my book! Don't ya wish you were a fly on the wall when the gals start discussing cards for challenges...I mean, I have the hardest time trying to figure out what they're always looking for...sigh.

I just LOVED the warm rich colors and organicness (is that a word?) of Paulina's picture and tried to capture that with this little number. This was the first time I've ever used core paper and doing the sanding distress technique...LOVE this effect. I will tell you that instead of buying one of those expensive sanding sponge thingy tools that the craft stores sell, I snuck down to the basement and grabbed one of hubby's sanding sponge thingies from the Home Depot paint department, seriously, around a buck...now that I can live with! ;)   I did the double stamping with the large leaves and large solid leaves then cut them apart so I could layer them and tuck them up under my bow and little flower embellishment. The flower and the coppery glittered strip were both store bought.

Retail Therapy Anyone?? Bueller?.... Bueller?

It's that time of year again.....when I start gearing up for all the holiday craft shows...one week here another week there. I LOVE IT! I drive myself crazy trying to get to all of them....but its a fun kind of crazy. So of course when I was in the Woman Cave creating this weekend I was thinking of the shopping season and immediately reached for these cuties......

A closer peek...

Chickies....in hats....with purses....shopping! PURE GENIUS!!! Flash (the flamingo) also wanted me to point out that he has plastic pumpkin ready to for trick or treating and he hopes that he is NOT disappointed this year...he wants it filled.(I think that's a hint for me...haha)

EEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK....it's a spider!!!!!

Once again I am showing my puffy heartness for ribbon and creating a card around a coveted piece of my stash. I really think we need an addition on the house...I need a room for my DeNami stamps and one for ribbon!!
a little closer....check out his eyes
Lovin' the classic black and white. I really had a hard time deciding between a bow and the red bling...bling won ;)

I do love me some tulips

When I am "stuck" for an idea, I always gravitate towards my favorite flower stamps and then I can usually come up with a little something something. And that is what I did here. Once again reaching for one of my "go to" stamps - the tulips (those and the daisies....lurve those daisies).

Now I was wanting to create something clean and simple and easily recreated so I can make a handful to send to OWH. This is what I came up with...

A little closer...

Now this card can be used for just about any reason or no reason at all. Which is good for our servicemen and women - they can write whatever they want on the inside. I thought about adding a little something on the background but I didn't know what. So if you have a suggestion let me know and I will try it out.

Polka dots & ghosties make me smile

I'm tellin ya'll, I just can not get enough of that darling scalloped border! And ya know, I'm just really lovin that little layout I did for my sister-in-law. It's perfect for border stamps! You throw those two things in with polka dots which I LOVE and then add in a little ohh so adorable DeNami friendly ghost and you got a recipe for an adorable creation...if I may say so myself ;)  Who would have thunk that a layer lover like myself would be so engaged with a non-layerd card?? These pretend "layers" just make me all giddy!
I added citrone glitter to the orange in the border and X-tra fine glitter to the ghost...here's another view so you can see all the glitters full effect...

I seriously though about adding glitter to the polka dots too but thought that maybe it would be a little too much...would you have?

psssst: you should really give that citrone glitter a try....I know what you're thinking, "but Tina, it's yellow". That's okay, amazingly it accents so many colors so well!! Try it on greens, oranges, reds and yellows...just go try it out ;)

I heart using a new stamp.....

I really do! There is just something about inking up a pristine stamp that makes me all giddy. And with this card - I got to do it....TWICE! Oh yeah - I was getting my ink on!

Come a little closer:

I also added a little crystal laquer to the little leaves on the inside.

Pumpkin Family

Ohhh how I puffy heart LOVE the DeNami's Jack O'Lanterns!! This little number just steals my heart if I may say so myself! I like how I used dark colors yet still accidently kept the look of the card bright. Don't ya just love when stuff like that happens?
My little pumpkins and leaves are actually not paper pieced...they are stamped, masked and stamped again. I had a different idea for this card, but as ya'll well know, sometimes cards take on a direction of their own. I fussy cut the whole scene and attached it to the card. There are 2 leaves that are paper pieced...just one on each side because I had to cover up the fact that the leaves on either end were cut off...that whole switching directions thing, it was intended to be a full panel so I stamped the leaf off the page...Nothing a little paper pieced leaf couldn't fix! I'm really gettin into that whole ink distressing thing. Started out with white cardstock and used a Stampabilities orange and Versacolor vintage sepia to create my background. Everything is stamped in the vintage sepia color.

I don't know what the weather has been like in your neck of the woods, but all last week, it was gray and rainy and icky. Now don't get me wrong, I love a cool rainy DAY but a WEEK?!? I was jonesing for a little sun and came up with this....

Come take a closer peek:

And the inside...

My wishes were granted because after making this little cutie last week the sun has finally re-appeared - YAY!

Rows of wonderful wheat

Did you see the wonderful cards over at DeNami's blog using the wheat stalk stamp?? So funny that Paulina spot lighted this darling little stamp...I just finished this little card this past weekend!
I've had this little cutie for a while now, and even with all the fall themed cards I've been making I just never reached for it. I decided this past weekend that it was his moment to shine and made a little sumthin' with him...I can't get over the coincidence of Paulina doing the same :)

Tag Me

First and foremost....have you seen the most recent Denami In-Touch Newsletter? You did? Well did you happen to notice that my Twinkie Tina has a card featured?? Woot woot Tina!! I bow down before your card craftiness "I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy" (say it like Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World). Annnnd....if you did happen to notice it....why don't you give Tina a little blogger love and leave her a congrats comment.

So, after I get Tina's happy email and then see it for myself in the newsletter I thought I need to step up my game....I mean to share a blog with a famous crafter like her I need to become "worthy" (hehe ducking cause I know Tina is probably gonna throw something at me at any minute...hehe). Good thing that I had my mojo well juiced up on mini Snickers and Twix bars (diet? what diet?).....cause I went a little outside "my" box and came up with this......

Come a little closer....

And look...the tag comes out for the sentiment...

And yes, I went and used that Daisy.....AGAIN! On the tag I also used some crystal laquer but the camera doesn't quite pick it up.

Stamps used on this little creation: D75 Small Daisy and E147 Dropping you a note sentiment.

Ghostly Boo's

So my little ghostie buddy has been sitting out on my desk for a couple of weeks now refusing to go back into his drawer. If he had his way, he'd be spot lighted in every card I do...what a diva, thinks he's all that and a bag of chips (insert snapping fingers). What can I do but to give in...I mean look at him, he's right after all.

Hubby asked if I needed to borrow his level cause my bow was crooked...Jeeze, everyone's a comedian...or at least they think they are ;). Why do I torture myself by asking for his opinion in the first palce lol??

Its that time of year again

Yes, yes, it is....so of course I am in the Halloween spirit! For me this is the beginning of the holiday season (that lasts 3 months as well it should). I see that Tina has gotten the Halloween bug too. Nothing wrong with that....nope, nothing wrong at all.

So here is my latest Halloween creation.....

Take a closer peek....

Isn't this fun? I just had to add a little bow (I think Tina is rubbing off on me).

Stamps used: D126 Friendly Bat, PF36 Halloween Stamp Set

Spooky House

If you're looking for Wendy's blog hop post please scroll down one post or simply click here...don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a DeNami gift certificate!!
I just love creating little scenes and this card was so fun and EASY to make! It took literally 10 minutes…I’m serious…10 minutes AND it has coloring! Now take it from a girl that has spent hour after hour after yet more hours just on one element of a card…that’s seriously  amazing!

I made a sweet little bow out of the orange ribbon and debated on adding it under the button at a jaunty angle (I have issues conforming to “straightness”), then decided against it, I thought it might take too much from the scene…would you have added one??

Ok enough fodder - get to the cards already you say? Well then, here you go (insert drumroll sound here - use your imagination....come on you can do it.....)

Once I found my mojo (he's been hiding lately), I took Tina's advice and handcuffed that little sucker to my desk in the Woman Cave....and came up with this....

Isn't that cute? Its a little Post It note holder. This could be recreated for any season. Fun right?

Now, don't forget.....leave some blog love for your chance to win a fantabulous (yes, its a word) prize from Denami! If you get lost along the way, you can always go back to the Denami Blog and start from the beginning or you can hop right over to Lisa's Blog for some more fabulousness! Ghostie Suprise

I’m gonna be totally honest with you, when I first saw the open box I was not liking it at all. I actually thought to myself…”Now what would you possibly do with something like that?” Then I saw a little card done up with hearts floating up out of the box by Amber…and the good Lord said Let There Be Light…low and behold, the light bulb clicked on...ohhhhhhhhh duh!!!! So many possibilities!! I have been in puffy heart love with this little guy ever since! It’s a stamp everyone should have.

Heck, anything can pop out of a box…hearts, balloons, critters and even ghosties…
I love the spiders...if you look closely, you can see I added fluff to them.

That Ghostie Was Framed...

Okay, so I’m not good at post titles…don’t judge ;)

I just love finding new ways to use that sweet little whimsical oval frame. It’s one of the most versatile stamps in my collection. I decided to pair it up with the little ghost for a “portrait”. A little glitter, a little puffy white pen and....well-la, a cute little ghostie portrait!
A little closer...

I’m really feelin’ the green / purple color combo! I tried  to give my ghostie friend a little grey shading here and there, but as you can see, I’m not so good at it and the white puffy ink kinda covered most of it. He’s still adorable to me though ;)

Big Chicks Need Love Too

I just heart this big chickie. It was just there....sitting in my drawer with out one single bit of ink stain on the rubber or wood (I tend to get ink on the wood, on my fingers, on my face....I say go big or stay home!). Poor little big chickie stamp...just needed a little love and so it called out to me....."use me....love me" and so...I have.

Take a closer peek...

And just to prove I really did love this little chickie...I added the bow! HA!

Pumpkin stack

I just love playing with the Jack O’Lanterns…this little trio is so much fun!! With the way this stamp is designed it’s so easy to change it up. I mask it off with tape, ink up one pumpkin, pull off the tape and stamp. No need for a cut out mask or scratch paper to keep the area around it unstamped…Easy peasy!
A little closer look...

Since I popped my frame up on foam tape, I added a piece under my bow to lift it to the same height. I had the whole card finished then decided to add a sentiment…I stamped it a little crooked…just my luck! That’s what I get for being lazy and not using my stamp-a-ma-jig. I decided to leave it…gonna give it to my sister Denise when we go to happy hour next week…after a long island iced tea or two she’ll never notice it’s crooked ;)

World Card Making Day! and a Challenge!

Happy World Card Making Day!!!!!

Sometimes I am asked by friends or family members..."Wendy, what do you do with all those cards you make?". Well, that's a good question. Some, I keep for inspiration. Others I send out to my friends as "Happy Mail" because let's face it - who doesn't like getting a little hand made greeting card in the mail....just because. The others...are sent here.....

Operation Write Home
Tina introduced me to this wonderful organization that sends handmade greeting cards to our men and women serving overseas so that they may send a note home to their loved ones (lets face it, when was the last time you saw a Hallmark store in the middle of the desert?). What a great pairing between those who like to make cards (Hellooo...TINA AND ME....duh) and those that can really use them to send home. Sort of a no brainer.

So for World Card Making Day, we want to give you a little challenge. Unfortunately, there isn't a "prize" associated with this little challenge other than knowing that you are giving something selflessly to someone who will cherish it more than you will ever know - and for us that is prize enough. Our challenge is for you to #1 go through your cards that you have made that are just lying around. Gather them up to send to this organization. #2 After looking through your stash, CREATE - I mean it IS WORLD.CARD.MAKING.DAY after all! Make one - Make MANY! #3 After gathering them up, don't let them sit there on your desk waiting to be sent....send them out ASAP - the sooner you send them, the sooner a serviceman or woman will be sending them home. And finally #4 tell us here that you have done it!

Now, there are a few rules (please see the Operation Write Home website for all of them) and the hardest one for us is...no glitter. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. *Sigh* You know how we "heart" the glitter. But, if we can make a card without it and so can you.

So get out there....create....and send them on!
