Falling Hearts

When I saw this heart in the product spot light I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I knew exactly what I wanted to do....
Surprised? If you know me at all you are lol!! No layers,,,very clean and simple...so NOT me, right? I just had this vision and wanted to run with it. It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but I stamped the first heart in a dark pink distress ink, the faded it out as they went down by using a lighter pink ink on parts of the stamp together with the darker pink.

I stole Wendy's Monday post....

Wendy and I usually rotate days for our posts and she actually had something set to post Monday and I canceled it so I could post something now to serve as Mondays post...shhh, don't tell her ;)

I've already entered my "drink projects" and a card for the current Anything Goes DeNami challenge, but I have one more little thing I wanted to enter....
I used the mini solid filigree to make a border and added the stitched border to hang the heart outline and the 2 hearts from the hearts stamp set. I then added the bow from the whimsical Christmas set. I added strawberry freeze glitter to all three hearts and magenta glitter to the bows and stickles to the "hanging ribbon".
I left just a little border of the base card (black) showing between the charcoal & pink panels and pink grosgrain ribbon. Oops, I almost forgot....I added the love sentiment from heartfelt greetings set :)

Cause you gotta have Friends!

It has been a while since I pulled out the good ol daisy stamps. So when I am in a rut I will usually reach for a daisy.....and what could be happier than PINK daisies with a little bling? Makes you smile...right? Then mission accomplished!

See the little bling in the center of the daisies?

Sparkly Kitty

I have had this cute little kitty stamp for quite some time now and I just couldn't think of how I wanted to use it. But it sat there....day after day....just begging to be used. So as I sat in my woman cave trying to figure out what to do this past weekend, I decided it was time to use it. But she couldn't be just a plain little kitty....oh no....she had to SPARKLE!

See the sparkle close up?

How cute is that I ask.....

And how funny that Tina and I were on the same wavelength once again....(see yesterday's post)....too funny

Princess kitty

Since "anything goes" in the latest DeNami challenge, I decided to pull out a handful of stamps that I haven't used in ages and see what I could come up with...

If ya'll have a kitty, then you know that they can be little divas...I know one of mine sure is!! Befitting Miss Rosie's princess position, she usually lays on one of the throw pillows from the couch...and you better not touch it or you will be told about it...she's one cranky princess!! That being said, I decided this little princess needed herself a cloud pillow too. I just love this kitty stamp...she's purr-fectly adorable. Yeah, I said it...couldn't resist ;)

Bottoms up....

Did you hear about the awesome theme for the latest DeNami challenge?? Anything Goes!!!!!! Wow, I wouldn't want to be the person responsible for choosing the winner on this one! I have a little bit of a different project that I just finished up and thought I'd enter them...

I recently joined a book club....with as much as I read I can't believe I hadn't before now! We alternate houses for the meetings and serve some snacks and wine but I don't own any glass charms...they are a must have for our gatherings as we can never keep up with our glasses. Instead of going out and buying some random charms I decided to make some...what better charms than CHICKIES!

I did a lot of jewelry making / beading before the arthritis in my fingers and the corporal tunnel got to bad and I have trouble holding onto those tiny beads...I still had plenty of supplies on hand. Each one has stickles on the chickie for a little added bling. For the beading I choose pearls, pink beads and crystals. These are as girly as it gets :) Don'tcha just love them? I can't wait for the gals to come over to show them off!

I found "make your own" travel mugs at my local craft store. As part of Wendy's Christmas goodies I made her one using her favorite DeNami stamp...any guesses? It was the daisy of course!! It turned out adorable so I decided to make another one using my favorite stamp...what do you think?

You can't see it real well from the photo, but I added stickles to the mini swirl flourishes for some bling. I just love this cup...perfect for my hot tea since I don't do coffee!

One can never have too many hearts...

I don't have enough fingers and toes to count all the hearts on this card! Whew, I must have been on heart overload when I stamped this lol....
I started out with the teeny heart background on the card and for the panel I stamped the solid heart outline twice in one shade of pink, then stamped the heart swirl & brushed heart over them in another shade of pink. I'm really liking how the hearts overlap and not line up perfectly. I added the ribbon, bow and edged strip and wellahhhhhhh....easy and cute valentines card.

Birdhouse Love

I just love this bird house stamp. Why on earth did it take me so long to buy it?!

I used ink and sponges to color white card stock for the sky. I also fussy cut the clouds and the birdhouses....add the little sentiment and throw in a little lady bug and....voila!

Stamps used in this card: PF26 Assorted Greeting Petit Four, E137 Small Cloud, D85 Birds, P54 Birdhouse Trio, A94 Mini Heart, A96 LadyBug

Callin' first dibs on the frosting spoon!!!

Good Morning DeNami friends! I have what I think is a really cute card to share with you today...I mean, how can you go wrong with pink and glitter, right?? It's a win win!!

I have a bunch of birthdays comming up in January and February so I thought I'd better get started now or I'll be making some last minute cards like I did last year! I'm determined to try to stay on top of that a little better this year ;)   Fingers are crossed lol!
It's kinda faint in my picture, but I stamped the little sparkles / fireworks from the party time petit four in pink on a pink card base then added a edged strip with an accent strip that I stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the thoughtful greetings set all over randomly in the same pink. To finish it all off I stamped the circle border, punched it out and filled it with Xtra Fine glitter and a fussy cut birthday cake that I had already stamped, colored and glittered. If you want a cute but super easy design... this one is a piece of "cake"!

Love and sparkles

Being the Valentines season just gives me one more reason to use pink, glitter and hearts!! Well, it's not like I usually use an excuse really...I mean, heck, who doesn't LOVE them some pink glittery anything, right?

I did a little background stamping on a pink card using the teeny heart and "love" sentiment from the Heartfelt Greetings set, then stamped the N21 heart border on a diecut in pink and filled in the hearts using the DeNami Strawberry Freeze glitter...the pinkness of the glitter is pretty faint with all the other pink around it. I added a strip of DeNami pink grossgrain ribbon under the diecut and trimmed the ends in a "V" pattern. After adhering it to the card face I added two little pink bows in matching ribbon.

You're a Tweetie

So I decided to just stick with the Valentine theme since I was so inspired by the hop this week. I pulled out a few "oldie but goodie" stamps that have been laying in my cabinet just begging to be used.

Now what is not showing up is that I used some stickles around the scalloped border of the border stamp. Maybe a pic a little closer with flash...

Nope, still can't see it - well just use your imagination. It really does add a little sparkle to the card.

This is a simple little number but sometimes simple is good.

Stamps used in the making of this card: N113 Heart Scallop Border, N122 You're a Tweetie Chickies

Silver hearts

After having such good luck with my Valentines card for the blog hop I decided to play with velum once again. I just LOVE this color combo and was happy to finally be able to use those large rhinestones that come in the package that you never seem to manage to use. I used the N134 teeny heart background and the N21 heart border, hope you like it. I made the card from a plum cardstock and added a pink panel that I punched a pretty border on. I stamped the teeny heart background in a dark pink to gray cardstock and mounted it using foam tape then attached the velum that I have embossed using the heart border stamp and silver embossing powder. To attach the velum I simply used my quickie glue pen and traced the stamp on the back side and a little spot where I knew I'd place the rhinestones. I really love seeing the teeny hearts through the velum.

Love is in the Air....Its the Denami Blog Hop!

That's right its time to hop and if you have made it THIS far - then pat yourself on the back. This is the last stop on the hop. If you are following along then you have arrived from the wonderfully talented Wendy Elliot. And now you are here with me...another Wendy!

So in thinking about this little hop....I was having a hard time coming up with just which stamp to use! I mean, they are ALL so yummy and as I mentioned in a post earlier this week, I was forward thinking enough to order some Valentine themed goodies at the beginning of December so I have a few from which to choose. Its been a while so I decided I needed a card with a little fussy cutting and so I came up with this.....

Come take a closer peek...

I do love using red in my cards but I don't do it nearly often enough. Stamps used in the making of card...A94 Mini Heart, J27 With Love, M29 Rosebud Heart Swirl. The ribbon? Yep, its Denami too!

So now its time for the fun stuff....since I am the last stop on the hop all you have to do now is go back to the Denami home page and leave them some blog love in the form of a comment about the hop! I don't know about you, but I always get some really GREAT ideas from these hops. AND if that weren't enough, be sure to leave comments along the way because....Denami is also giving away (2) $20 gift certificates to two lucky winners just for commenting along the way! (Pssst - if you skipped a few you have until January 9, 2012, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs).

A little DeNami give-a-way

Heya DeNami friends, I decided to re-run this post in order to make sure everyone got a chance to enter. A special thanks to Paulina for her shout out on Facebook...she rocks! Remember, you have through Sunday to leave your comments and I will be picking a random winner and the announcement on Monday. GOOD LUCK!

Hi ya'll, Happy New Year!!! Did you have a nice Holiday? Santa sure was good to me this year! I got to thinking that Wendy and I should start off this new year the best way we knew how...with a DeNami give-away! Can't get better than that can we? ;)

Here's what's up for grabs...

Here's the info you need...
1.) Like DeNami on face book (let us know if you already do)
2.) Follow our little blog (let us know if you already do)
3.) Tell us how you store your DeNami stamps
That's 3 full chances to win...You have until Sunday to enter and I will randomly pick a winner next Monday so be sure to stop back by to see if you're the lucky one!

I just love my DeNami stamps and like to keep them within arms reach since I use them more than any other stamp. I use the drawer system from Sterilite and all but 1 1/2 drawers are filled with DeNami stamps. I keep them organized in a particular order so I can find everything easily, and let me tell you, that's hard to do with around 225 DeNami stamps (and that's with counting sets as one stamp)! All the holiday stamps are together in one drawer, sentiments in another drawer, petit fours in another, well, you get it. I decided to go ahead and show you my whole messy work space. I just love seeing where people make the magic happen...is that strange?? Well, anyway, I thought I'd show you mine along with how I store my DeNami goodies :)
I have tools, ribbon, misc ink pads, pencils, punches and 3 ring binders for clear stamps on the left. My cardstock is under the desk and my much loved DeNami stamps with scrap cardstock and my Cuttlebug stuff on the right. I always have a little portable table in front of the drawers on the left. There's always stamps and ribbon scattered on it from projects in the works.

Wendy says:

Now that you see how totally organized Tina is....I shame in comparison. But...in going with the whole "you show me yours I'll show you mine" thing....this is how I store my DeNami stamps:

"What is that?" you say? Well, its a "re-purposed" microfiche cabinet rescued from the library. Getting it home and up the stairs to the woman cave was no small feat let me tell you. I spray painted it white (I am thinking one day soon I may stamp on it). It is right beside my work table and literally is within arms reach. It has 4 drawers and 3 and half are already full! The top drawer is where I store my "go-to"tools and ribbon and glitters. The second drawer (top pic above) and third drawer (second pic above) hold my stamps. The bottom drawer has punches but soon will be holding stamps too!

Now for my "non Denami" (gasp - shocker that I own anything not DeNami - but shhhh I won't tell if you don't). I have a custom made cabinet that Uncle Rick made for me (I don't have a pic of it on this computer or I would show you - maybe another post) and its FULL. Think I have a slight stamping problem? HA!

Now its your turn, tell us how you store your goodies! Good luck and don't forget to use all three chances to enter.

Isn't she Lovely?

Do you do this....barely get finished with one holiday then immediately start thinking of the next? Well, I do. And since I was forward thinking for once in my life (HA!) I have some brand new stamps to play with (I ordered some Valentine themed stamps back in late Nov. early Dec.). Of course they have been sitting there in the woman cave, all nice and pretty just begging me to play with them. And that's just what I did.....

Both of these stamps (N135 Sweetheart Mimi and N134 Teeny Heart Background) were christened in the making of this card! You know having a new stamp is like having a shiny new car. You just go ahead and put a little scratch on it so you don't worry about it anymore? - I feel that way about my stamps - I just go ahead and get a little ink stain on the wood...then I don't worry about it anymore (go ahead roll your eyes, but you know you do it too).

Cause I love my Grandma

I'm was running behind on my Christmas card making when life just decided to get in the way or maybe it's Santas fault...jealous of my pretty cards when all he has is a certain purchased gold crown brand and told karma to kick me about a little as a favor...either way, I was still behind! I had all the invites for my SIL's baby shower ready to drop in the mail and thought I could concentrate on Christmas cards and get them wrapped up. However, my hubby's Grandma needed a little cheering after her doggie passed unexpectedly so I decided to make her a little card instead. She's more important than a silly Christmas card....

I love everything about this card...one of my favorite stamps, my favorite punch, a very pretty script sentiment, bow & bling and who doesn't love a pretty pastel purple cardstock??? Funny how my hydrangea looks more blue in this picture...trust me, it's totally a couple of shades of purple.

Happy New Year!

Hey y'all ! It feels like forever since I have done a post. Thank goodness for great friends like Tina that pick up the slack! Before getting to today's card I will give you just a wee little update on why I have been MIA.

See, when I started this blog I was a "stay at home" crafter...er...Mom. When we moved back home to SC a year and half ago I decided that I wanted to take some "me" time. Then one day....out of the blue I woke up and decided....I want to go back to work. And that is exactly what I did at the most inopportune time of the year.....the holidays! Yes, I know I don't know how to do anything the easy way. Add to that Grandmaw having to go in the hospital and running back and forth the NC EVERY weekend. See, told ya, never easy. So, I started a little temp gig thinking "well by the time this job ends it will be summer, I will have extra $$ for more DeNami goodies and all will be right with the world". Pffft, right! See, just one week after starting the temp thing, another company found me with a "real, full time, work everyday, not gonna be over by the summer, job". I listened to them, thought....nah - they aren't gonna hire me. Yeah, right because as you are reading this post, I am sitting in Chicago, at corporate HQ in my NEW JOB! Woot woot! I am just here for the week for "training" and then I will be back in SC spending time supporting a two facilities here (in case you are wondering what I do, I am a recruiter). And now that the holidays are over, I have more of a regular routine and I have made myself some "crafty time" - I will be back posting a little more on the regular (can you hear that sigh of relief from Tina? She can take a break too and not have to come up with something every day - HA)

So in honor of a New Year and new things, I came up with this card:

Its hard to see with my picture but I stamped the sparkles with Versa Mark to add a little something extra. And the pink sparkles just have a wee bit of pink glitter to give it a little shimmer. And the 2012 - well those are individual stamps that are non Denami but in my defense Denami doesn't have fonts and numbers soo....I think I can get away with it. AND those whiskers? Yeah, that would be Fat Jack. He insisted on being in EVERY picture I was taking so I just decided to not fight it! (I think he's been a little jealous of the flamingo if you ask me)

Stamps used: D98 Sparkles, N49 Happy New Year.

Now, I am not one for New Year's resolutions BUT I think I am going to make a crafty one - so my New Year's resolution is to try something new (a new idea, a new technique, something) at least once every two weeks or so. I think that is one I will be able to keep.

Now tell us, did you make a resolution?

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think....good or bad....or even better - what would you have done differently??...crafty minds wanna know!
