Happenings - September 2013

 

Well hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Happenings! If you're new here, on the first Monday of every month I just sit here and ramble about all sorts of stuff I find interesting and things I think you might want to know about. ;)    
I have some super exciting news I'm DYING to share but unfortunately I can't tell y'all about it quite yet, but look for a fun bit of news later this week!!

Well, ya know how I sent in an application for the DT call at Sweet Stamp Shop...yeah, I didn't get the position. However, it was the nicest "thanks but no thanks" e-mail I've ever received, lol!! But you know, that's alright, I can't win them all now can I? You can't let a little rejection get you down, ladies...you have to take it on the chin and keep reaching for that dream. :) 

Ohh my goodness, did you see the AMAZINGLY fun news over at Paper Sweeties??? The little "paper dolls" now have matching dies so you can cut them out!!! I was humbled & honored to be "in the loop" from the start on this little addition to the stamp line....what fun!! And as for the name (insert patting myself on the back here), I came up with Sweet Cuts ;)  I never come up with good names and have no clue how I mamaged that one, lol!!

And speaking of fun new products, DeNami is going to start carrying a HUGE line of dry emboss folders!!! When I worked in the show booth last month I knew they were toying with the idea, but wow, they're going to do it...fun fun fun!!!

A good thing about buying the folders either with a stamp order or even by themselves is that they really don't weight anything...shipping should be way reasonable! I can't wait to scope them out!

Birthday catch up and the new DeNami release...

First off, I'd like to wish my sister, Pam, a very happy birthday!!! 2 out of 3 times our parents got it right...we can't help that our other sister was born in April so she isn't as special, ;) hehehe! Just kidding, I love my oldest sister to death, I owe her a lot since she protected me in school and introduced me to my hubby of 23 years!

 

Happy Wednesday everyone!! That stupid commercial with the camel walking around the office trying to get people to say it's hump day is officially playing in my mind...marketing strategy at it's best, lol!

 

July has been and still is being busy busy busy for me! I'm loving it though...what can I say ;) I like the crafty punishment!

 

Sooo many birthdays in July....

Just look at my calender and I haven't even listed one friends, an uncles, DeNami Addicts or MINE, lol! Whew, that's a lot of birthday cards to make!

 

 

 

To help celebrate DeNami Addict's and my birthdays I'm having TWO fun give a ways! I wanted to do something a little different, so I thought for the first give a way I'd have you really join in and make what else...a birthday card! At the end of the month I will use a random number generator to pick a random winner for a $25 DeNami gift certificate! It can be any kind of birthday card you want and you can use any products you want...no DeNami necessary. Just link your birthday card to the little linking system on the post with all the details (here). I do ask that if you have a blog and are linking from there that you include my birthday graphic in your post with a link to the page. I'd appreciate it. :)  If you've never linked up something before I will be happy to walk you through it, just drop me an e-mail, leave a comment or post on Facebook.

 

My second give a way has a little sumthin' sumthin' to do with this months Tool Talk guest. I met Debbie through her stamp company, Paper Sweeties, via DeNami's sweet top go to gal, Paulina. We have become fast friends and kindred spirits. Her company will be celebrating it's first birthday next month so I decided what better way to get started than to celebrate together by giving away a gift certificate to paper Sweeties too! This will be a random drawing also, just simply "like" Paper Sweeties on Facebook (&/or) follow the Paper Sweeties blog then leave me a comment on the Tool Talk post letting me know. Easy Peasy!! I'll be picking a random winner for this give a way on Friday, 7/19.

 

July also has seen the release of the DeNami Fall/Winter 2013 collection!! I must say that I'm smitten with the new images...Hahaha, like I wouldn't have been, right?!?!? I just had to take advantage of the "I want it all" option. It's a lot of money up front, but by the time I end up buying a piece here and there, which we all know I would do, this is a GREAT savings! I couldn't wait to play with my new goodies when I received them nor could I wait to show off what I had created with them so I was showing them off on my Facebook page. I thought I'd show them all here on the blog too just in case you didn't catch them on Facebook :)

 I had a great time interacting with all of you on Facebook over the weekend and having you suggest what stamp to play with next! You gals are awesome!! Just let me know if you'd like a particular stamp showcased...I'll be more than happy to have an excuse to get it out to play! ;)

Birthday Celebration!!!!

 Guess what...DeNami Addict is turning 2!!!

 

I can't believe that I've been doing all of this for 2 years...wow! I don't even want to think about all of the time and money it has cost to run this blog...I'd probably have a small stroke! It's kind of a money pit and pretty much a thankless job since I rarely receive comments, but I love running the Addict blog and hope that you enjoy visiting with me now and again! I'm passionate about keeping small business' going and when you have one like DeNami Design it's easy to be extra passionate. The Nakamura family is amazing, the product they produce is top notch quality and there's nothing to not love about the sweet images of their stamps!!

 In celebration of this months most festive occasion, I thought a little fun was in order! ;) Not only is DeNami Addict celebrating a birthday this month, I am too (we won't discuss my age...I'm way old, let's just leave it there, hehehe)! With all that in mind, I decided to have a fun birthday themed challenge giveaway!

 

 

I thought it would be fun for everyone to make a card that is always great to have on hand at any given time...a birthday card! If you'd like to join in on all the fun all you have to do is make a birthday themed card or project and link it up at the bottom of this post. At the end of the month I will select a random winner for a DeNami Design gift ceritficate!

 

 

 



For this challenge, there is only two requirements:

1) Create a new card/project based off of the theme/palette/sketch.
You don't have to use  DeNami stamps or other DeNami products, but if you have some, we'd sure love to see them!! You may enter 1 card/project and please link this challenge along  in your post.

2) Upload a photo of your card or project to your blog OR if you don't have a blog, you can upload your card to an online gallery (i.e. www.splitcoaststampers.com, www.flickr.com, etc.) then come post the direct link / url to your photo in the link widget box below. Please do not leave your links in the comments section.

*if you have never linked up a project before, it's quite easy. Click on the "add your link" button below. A small window will pop up asking for your "URL". That's where you paste in the blog / Flicker / Splitcoast Stamper address where your card can be found. It will also ask for your name and e-mail address. After submitting that info it will bring up another window where you can select the picture of the card/project you're entering. It may or may not give you a third window concerning Facebook...you can just click "skip" there if you'd like. That's all there is to it...easy peasy, promise ;)

After the challenge ends, I will randomly select one person to receive a $25.00 DeNami gift certificate!

Challenge ends July 31st at 11:59 PM central time.

DeNami Happenings - March 2013

Hi everyone and welcome to another addition of DeNami Happenings. I have some fun things to tell you all about! Let's start with a little info about what's going on for the Addict blog.

 I have made 2 new videos. I not only have made a new haul video but I've also made a little start to finish Easter card video. I can't wait to show it to you and find out what you think about it. :)  I'm also preparing to make a few more videos...I have tons of ideas up my sleeve!

Recently Paulina did a little poll on their Facebook page about St. Patrick's Day and Easter Cards. I'll be bringing you plenty of both over the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of Facebook, did you realize DeNami Addict has it's very own Facebook page? Right now we have 63 followers, I'd LOVE to get that number up to 100 so that I can do a fun give away! Feel free to come over for a visit and "like" us :)

This month we feature yet another amazing and talented gal as a guest on Took Talk. I have no idea what she's going to tell us about yet, but I just know it's going to be as awesome as she is!!

November 2012 - DeNami Happenings

Happy November everyone! Are you ready for some fum fall themed cards this month? I'll be bringing PLENTY of them for you gals and am super siked to get started on some fun Christmas cards too :)

Have you entered our challenge right here on DeNami Addict yet? Challenges are really fun and creative...why not join in? Even if you don't have a blog, you can always upload your card's photo to a free hosting site like Flicker or Splitcoast Stampers and enter. Remember, using a DeNami product is not a requirement...hope you can join us!

Did you know that DeNami has added a new product to their online store? WASHI TAPE!!! I personally have not used it before, but am super excited to try some out. Since I'm unsure about it, I think I'm going to go with one of their polka dot ones because I can ALWAYS find somewhere to put polka dots, lol!! Thinking I'm going to love it and end up with them all ;)

 

DeNami has went and brought Christmas to us early by the way of an uber exciting coupon. If you get the monthly DeNami news letter then you already know about it. For the month of November, they are offering a wonderful discount on all products, not just the stamps. I feel the need to do some stocking up...especially with Christmas card making season practically around the corner!!

 

Remember a while back I showed my DeNami stamp collection and made a little link so that you all could too? Well, I just loved the feed back about my collection and loved seeing some collections from you all that I decided it needed it's own page right here on the blog! How big is your DeNami collection??

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday! The week is officially half over..can I have a WOO-HOO?? As promised, I made another haul video for you guys. Did any of you take advantage of the September coupon? I did and then some! I actually placed 2 orders...good thing I have an understanding hubby that gives into my obsession :)  I'm a lucky gal!

I couldn't remember off the top of my head where I saw certain stamps, I kinda put myself on the spot and then went brain dead, lol. And of course after finishing the video I realized I saw the butterfly in Stacy's collection and the leafy tree & leafy vine are in Greta's collection...go figure! I hope you enjoyed the video and like I said, I'd love to see your collection. I got a lot of inspiration from seeing yours! Here's the link to the magnetic board that I mentioned in my video.

I've added a couple of more pictures (my September haul) to my collection photos. There is also one little stamp that I didn't show in the video. I found this little guy on the Internet for $2.50...It's an oldie from 1990! I just love that DeNami dates their stamps. I'm also adding the link for your collections to this post in case someone would like to join us for a little show and tell fun! Feel free to link up your collection and visit everyone that has already linked. I just love seeing what stamps you've purchased, some of you will recognize a few of my new stamps...I made my purchase decisions because I fell in love with yours!

As of today I have 323 random/single stamps, 38 Petit four sets, & 4 trifle sets which is a grand total of...487 stamps!! Some day I may get everything on my wish list, but it's still fairly long. To see my full collection, click here.

Are you an addict too....

Hello everyone! :)   Today I have a fun little post for you. A while back I did a post where you got to know me and some things about this blog a little better. I had so much fun showing all of you my DeNami stamp collection and seeing a few other DeNami fans collections that I thought I'd do another post on it.

  

This is a great opportunity to show off your collection and to see what stamps everyone else loves too. The linking system is still up and running for you to add a link to your collection (it's at the bottom of this post). As crafters we all have our own style and even though we may have a few of the same stamps we use them differently. What a fun way to "meet" a few DeNami fans like yourself and see how they use their stamps. After checking out some of the collections that have already linked up I've had to change my wish list all around! And honestly, I like seeing the stamps "in person". I've seen them on DeNami's web site of course, but you get a whole new perspective when you see them in the photos. So come join us for some fun and hopefully inspiring time by adding your collection to the link and checking out the other collections!  

I just placed an order this week so my stamp count has changed. As of today, I officially have 303 random/single stamps, 37 Petit Four sets & 4 Trifle sets...if you break them down, that's a grand total of 463 stamps! When I get my new order I'll take pictures to post here on the blog and I think I may try another haul video...whatcha think? Here's my collection (minus my recently placed order)
